I have a 2010 Trail with KDSS, completely stock still as of today and almost all of my driving (25,061 miles today) is highway and I average at least 20 miles per gal driving majority of time @ 70mph. This sounds low, so it must be all my emergency tools, gear, supplies, etc. that I always carry around in it!

I've been getting 22.5 on the highway if I keep it around 65. I got the same today at 60 towing a 900lb Jet Ski trailer. It starts dropping MPGs big time at 70. The same thing used to happen with my old Subaru Outback. I calculated that I lost 4 MPG by going 70 instead of 65. 65 seems to be the magic number.

29k on the odometer, 75% highway 25% City. 18 mpg overall. High of 20mpg on highway between 70-75mph. City (stop and go) maybe 17.

About 75% of the distance covered was highway with the Miata on a trailer following along. We've towed from DC to Toledo, OH; Lincoln, NE; and Charlotte, NC this year. We'll be towing to the Atlanta area in a week or so.

So far, in about 5000 km of 75% rural/25% city driving, my Trail is using 10.8 litres per 100 km. (about 21.8 miles per USA gallon).

2011 Stock Trail with 8k. 75% city 16.5MPG
I am going to do some serious checking but with 36K on the od I have Never gotten 18 on the Hwy or anywhere else. Mostly city driving and if I ever got 15 I would be ecstatic. I get 12.5 to 13.5 with an 06 Sr5 auto V6. The only non stock thing I have is the Revo's and I keep them at 37#. Can't believe I got the only one toyota put out that sucks on milage!!!:sadwave:
What is the weight of your trailer and Miata combined? That's impressive.
Stock '11 Limited, at 16k miles now. I get 15.5 mpg in 50/50 mixed driving, and 17.5 in highway only at about 70 mph, cruise control. Tires are at recommended pressure. I do not have a lead foot. This is with 87 octane, from various gas stations, and calculated by hand not by the onboard computer. It is fairly disappointing. The gas mileage did drop significantly right after my 5k service, by 2-3 mpg, though of course the dealership has nothing to say about that.

Trailer 1600 lbs? (open trailer with wood deck)
Miata 2100 lbs
Stuff in Miata 100-150 lbs
Total 3900 lbs hung off the 4Runner's back bumper
Two people in the wagon with 150ish lbs luggage/racing stuff
