I'm sure I got ripped off to some extent at the body shop, but there was no way I could do all the work they did.. Not with a full time job and a baby, in a month span..

Shrockworks sliders

Been meaning to update this thread with the install pictures of the sliders W/ XREAS.

First off a big THANK YOU to [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] for the walk through!!! Paul, your OK by me !

So Paul suggested to order the sliders with gussets on all 4 arms, which made it much easier to install. The only true modification that will need to take place for the XREAS lines is to remove a few clips that are holding the line.

Not everyone will be the same. Paul and I both have 2010 LE's and we had a few different configurations in which clips to remove and where we needed to use stick nuts.

I made the stupid mistake of filling up my gas tank all the way prior to the instal. Very bad mistake, luckily for me, my friend has a 1 ton jack. So we had to use it along with some wood to keep it in place during the install.

Instal on an EMPTY GAS TANK

Passenger Side:

1. First clip that needed to come out, this is under the front passenger side

2. Second clip is right next to the quarter inch size hole... 3. Right below is where I had to feed the stick nut and align it with where the bolt will mount.

My buddy that was helping me had to cut the sides off the stick nut in order for it to fit through the hole. Def not plug and pal.. However its needs to be sturdy in order to be held in place

Here is what it looks like from the bottom, obviously the nut needs o be on the inside

Once Step 1-3 were done, it was simply align the slider with a couple of jacks and bolt in place.

Keep in mind the wilder mounting plates have more than one hole. You don't have to use all, just what works for you.

Driver side:

1. The XREAS line clip right above the gas tank mount needs to be removed.
2. The bolt, holding the gas tank mount in the green box needs to be removed in order to place the slider mount plate under the gas tank mount.

Under the driver door, their's a cylinder mount that also needs to be undone and mounted over the slider mounting plate

In order to lower the gas tank mount to do the install, the skid plate has to be removed. There is a bolt, litterly under the middle of the truck, that was a doozy to remove and put back on.

I had to use one of SW bolts to mount the cylinder over the sliders.

For the gas, we used the same bolt. It worked fine. Keep in mind that the slider plate is in-between the gas tank mount and the body.

The mounting plates fit perfect under the lines. It would be cool if they came with clips mounted to reattach the lines, maybe an idea for shrockworks? [MENTION=63082]TxBxSx[/MENTION]

Anyhow... It took us a total of about 3 hours after we figured out, our heads from our asses.

Lastly, I wanted to post a picture of these brackets that we didn't use, nor do I know what they are for. Just thought I would share.

In addition, I had many extra bolts and nuts. I think SW just adds extras?

Danny, those "extra" brackets are the bolt on gussets you opted for. Each gusset is specific to a mounting bracket. I can see in your mounting pictures that there are no gussets installed...

I'm pretty sure those are the "bolt on gussets" that I recommended you get on all 4 corners instead of the welded on gussets that they normally come with layball: They create a trianglar brace between the slide, and frame, giving the slide more strength to resist upward movement when you park it on top of a boulder or use to to jack up your truck with a hi-lift.

Should I re-do the install or leave it as is?

I don't want to bore the bolts, the front driver cylinder already started to bore from the initial install.

What are the chances of me messing up the sliders/frame if I do "land on a boulder"

My 2 cents of non-engineering mind says you will likely be fine with using both the side and bottom frame bolts. The gussets strengthen up the welds where the posts come off the frame.

Justin will have to tell you how confident he is in his welds.

Personally, I would add them, but I wouldn't be in a major hurry.

My 2 cents of non-engineering mind says you will likely be fine with using both the side and bottom frame bolts. The gussets strengthen up the welds where the posts come off the frame.

Justin will have to tell you how confident he is in his welds.

Personally, I would add them, but I wouldn't be in a major hurry.

When I add the brackets (gussets) would I have to re-do the entire install or just the top side of the frame bolts.. It looks like they just bolt on to the top side, not the bottom side bolts.

2. Will the bolts get bored from being taken out and put back in?

Okki has it right. Running without the gussets will allow for a bit more flex in the slider if you come down on it hard, and it does help strengthen and spread the load of the leg to mounting plate with the gussets on.

Our 4th gen 4Runner guys cant run gussets at all with xreas and we have had no complaints from them. I'd say if your tired of crawling around under your truck take a break, but would certainly suggest getting them on there for the strongest set-up.

On the slider post there is a tab you would bolt to; no extra work here. On the frame side, you would have to undo/redo one bolt per corner.

[MENTION=63082]TxBxSx[/MENTION] showed it perfectly with the image above. Shouldn't be a big deal since all your connections are still fresh and non-rusted/gunked up.
