my 01's tps is bad and toyota doesn't sell it! i know this problem is present in a lot of these. what am i supposed to do? i had to adjust it to keep the engine from dying, now it idles at 1000 from the 750 it was at.

i'm sure not paying $1400 for a new throttle body just for that part, which is how toyota sells it!

Dude what are you smoking and why is your text in all red comic sans.

Just use normal text lol.

Anyways I have already replaced my full throttle body and it didn't cost me $1400 lol. Whoever told you that is horrible. Don't go back there.

I bought a complete used Throttle Body with < 100k miles on it from a seller on ebay. The seller was not "just some guy" but actually a legit used parts distributor out of Texas. All the biggest wrecking yards are now selling via EBAY stores as a second store front. It was totally legit and they actually only do EBAY as a side-store.

The complete TB cost my about $125 or $150 (it was 2 years ago) and came with a complete 6 month return, no questions asked guarantee. I had it installed by my local Toyota guy for $120.

they don't have one. i moved mine a little and it settled on 850, but is intermittent as it will climb to 1000 at idle. :roadkill:

I call bull shit on that dealer!!! I just sold one for a2000 4runner yesterday. Hell they are a pretty common problem i think we might even have one in stk.

The 2000's aren't the special TPS's. It's the 01-02's. They have all the extra stability control crap which means special TPS/throttle body and special master cylinder.
