I just bought an 07 4runner limited v6 and when i hit the lock or unlock i dont get the beeping sound. Not sure if its just disabled or what. Id like for the truck to beep and would appreciate any help.

If the beep hasn't been disabled, it may be that you have a bad door lock actuator. When enabled, the single beep lets you know that all of the doors are locked. When it doesn't beep, check to make sure all your doors are locked.

Doors are locking and unlocking just fine with the remote. Just no beep. Where is the little speaker located. I might check that first

Ok when i lock or unlock the truck while inside i can hear some kind of clicking near the kick panel. So it sounds like its sending voltage to something. From what it sounds like the beeper is bad or has been taken out. Where would i find the beeper?

tried disconnecting the battery. nothing happened. I cant even find where people say the beeper is under the hood. could it not have one? its an 07 limited?

Took mine out 1st thing , it's in the driver side wheel well next to brake booster in the inside of fender . Obviously easier to find by beeping it to find it . Some wire cables going into it , kinda hard to pull out but doable . No speaker to my knowledge . Get a pic up manana !

Here ya go

Hope these help ! Little bit back in the corner you can see where in the well the plugs go ?

ok i compared to my sisters 05 and my 4runner does not have the beeper. Dont know if someone pulled it off or it just doesnt come with one. How hard would it be to install one?

They didn't change that much in 2 yrs ! In the 1st pic I zoomed into that wire going into the side where wire is going , it's in there if you still have it ! We call it a" pizio " do s search Pretty small little box maybe size of a golf ball in the side fender well . I had to pull pretty hard to get it out . Hell if you want one I'll send you my old one . I also unplugged my seat belt bell

Yes, the "pizio" beep. I actually liked it. I prefer it to the "honk" of the horn that so many car makers use nowadays. Last year I had a remote car starter installed that happen to come with a car alarm. In order to install it, the installer had to disable the pizio and use the horn. I didn't want that, but the installer said the pizio is activated by the body ECU and thus wasn't possible. Whatever. I had them disable the horn feature. My keyfob "beeps" when it locks/unlocks. I hate it. What's worse is that the horn occasionally "honks" when it's not supposed to. The installer can't explain why.

I may have to head over to gshadow325 shop to replace my remote starter when I have money, LOL. BUT, keeping the pizio "beep". (If that's possible)

So I changed out my piezo with my sisters 4runner and it works fine. I also disconnected my battery for about 45 mins to try to reset the computer does anyone have any other ideas i can try to get this thing to work???

The only thing I can think of is to take it to a dealer. The Piezzo MAY be turned off. It's an option that can be restored/deleted via some computer they have.

Be forewarned I have no idea if this kills the airbag ! But reached under drivers seat & 1st plug I found & unplugged it ?

Alarm beeper thing

So I removed it and unplugged it the little piezo box or whatever, question is does the alarm still arm and work? When I lock the doors with the key fob the alarm icon still blinks on the console, and you can hear the doors lock?
