Lock/Unlock Beep

So I removed it and unplugged it the little piezo box or whatever, question is does the alarm still arm and work? When I lock the doors with the key fob the alarm icon still blinks on the console, and you can hear the doors lock?

The "alarm icon" is for the immobilizer so the engine won't start unless you have the programmed chipped key, it has nothing to do with any alarm.

I not sure and I could be wrong but I think none of the 4TH Gens have a "Factory Alarm" meaning from the Toyota factory, there are however dealer installed aftermarket alarms installed on many 4TH Gens.

True car alarms activate the car horn if I not mistaken, not the "beeper".
