Taking the advice from the people who responded to my previous thread, I decided to pass on the 96 4Runner base model 4x4 and get this instead from the same dealership!!!!

A 99 Limited 2WD in immaculate condition with 130k on the clock

My friend and I detail cars on the side so we spent the whole day doing a wash/clay/two step polish with a UDM/wax/sealant process on my new truck....Here are some reflection shots after the paint correction was done.

This was the test panel to find out the process that was to be used for correction. The left side was a single step, the middle area (the taped mark) was untouched area, and the right side was fully corrected after being compounded and refined

I knew we could swing you up into a 99 or newer.

Good looking ride. I am not appreciating the photos as much as you are intending- but the benefits of the clay bar are no doubt more obvious to you in person. The glare of the flash kind of washes out the photos for me.

Nice reflection of the tree in the hood that is obvious.

We will have you upgrading and modding in no time!

thanks all... I switched out the fog light bulbs today because one was out. I also bought some silverstar ultras because my local kragen had a 20 dollar rebate offer.

Oh, a question, in the manual it says the 5vz has a 8800lb tow capacity (that seems crazy high for a an engine with 220lbs/ft). Do you think I will be able to tow my dads 3000lb boat safely? It looks like this

I know the 3rd gens are only rated at 5000lbs;maybe 8800 is gross weigth including the truck itself.

I think you should be fine pulling a 3000lb boat and the trailer but I do recommend an oil cooler for the tranny since even at it's rated 5000lbs it can be a lot for the V6 to pull.
