Looking for a 4Runner club in Hawaii

Howzit,
There is no organized club for 4Runners in Hawaii. There was a push to get a 3rd gen club going but due to a lack of turnout it died.
I think the Tacoma Territory guys have a club but from their website updates it seems kinda dead too.
What kind of 4runner you got?
I have a 99 but am looking for a new vehicle. The problem is what to get. Too many choices.

Yeah I see so many 4th Gen Runners, but not sure if they read this forum or not. I will be patient and see how things go, maybe a slow thread. I have a 2005 V6 Sport Edition. I have always wanted a Runner, but always had other bills to worry about or it wasn't a good time. I decided to get my new Runner before I can't enjoy it
I was thinking about a V8, and worried about the mileage. I hear that the mileage is actually pretty close to that of a V6. I love my truck and have no regrets.

hello....well, i guess there are 3 of us now on the island that enjoy our runners and are willing to make some posts on here. still breaking my V8 in...but second fill-up indicates d@mn near 20 mpg. not too bad for a gas guzzler, but i'm sure even 4 cylinder owners are not liking this outrageous $3.50 a gallon crap!!!

This is actually exactly what i did when i had my altimas and was on the forum. never bothered to check out the regional forums.
Anyways, good to see some other guys on here. Although i'm not much into the modding out since i modded my altima to the max and i'm short for money as a college student, i've done some ICE things. Traded my altima in for the 4runner and love it!

I am looking to buy a new 2006 4Runner V6 2WD Sports Edition and have a question for you... can you bargain/negotiate with the Servco dealerships here in Hawaii?
I have a qoute of $31300 after savings of ($1700) and includes taxes and fees for one with option A (running lights, rear spoiler, ...). There is a sale going on right now thus the savings of $1700.

That seems to be a good deal (at least a standard savings) based on the one I worked. I worked out a good deal over here at Windward Toyota with Dennis. Then I called a salesperson I was talking to over in Waipahu to see if he could beat it. 10 minutes later he called back and told me that he couldn't beat it and informed me that they are all Servco (which I knew) and couldn't go below the price I already had. I wonder if they have a deal between them allnot to under cut each other. I didn't tell either one I was looking elsewhere but I think they might have tipped him off in the computer system.FlipIam said:

When you make an offer on the 4Runner make sure you research the invoice price (which is still higher than what the dealer pays for the car) and offer according to that. Don't negotiate using MSRP (sticker) as the reference. I used Edmunds.com to get all the pricing details.

Servco links all the computers between the dealers. The first person who enters your name gets the sale. That is the reason why no one will beat a price once. I never tried this but if you have a spouse or significant other you pretend that they are getting the car so that their name is entered into the system.

true, how we need a 4R club down here seeing how popular they are now. even seen a cop's 4runner on 20s. my brothers and some of my friends have 4Rs and been thinking about making a club for some time now.

I think there is a local chapter of a Tacoma club here that still gets together and does cruises, I forgot the name, though.
There are a couple of truck clubs, mostly dropped/bagged minis and full-size trucks. There are a couple of bagged Tacomas around that come out to meets/cruises.
I don't know of any specific 4R clubs, but there is a Toyota cruise coming up around the end of the month. Info is posted up on local forums, it's pretty much any Toyota vehicle welcome.
