There are out there but will be harder to find. I remember i was obsessed with wanted a black one along with all the other things that were a must (V8, 4x4, Sport Edition, 06model +). But sometimes its going to be hard to find everything you may want. I got everything i wanted but instead went with White. Flew out to Vegas and drove it back to CA and couldn't be happier.
Keep looking around, i am sure your stumble upon it. Your gonna have to be really patient.

I don't know what your price range is but check out autotrader. It let's you filter the cars pretty well but unfortunately there's no way to see just sport editions. You can type in sport edition but you'll miss a bunch because most of the non-toyota dealers just classify it as an SR5 since that's what Carfax shows. And I wouldn't try to filter the colors either because the non-toyota dealers also classify it as black instead of Grey or Charcoal. I know you want a Sport Edition but here is a nice limited in your area.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me with my purchase. Non-Yota Dealer had it listed as an SR5 in BLACK color and was asking $4K below KBB. I drove it home an hour later and here she is to stay.

Ya, the benefit is that non toyota dealers also price them like an SR5 cause they don't know any better. That's how I got a good deal on my first one.

The video of the truck said "fully independent suspension". ha ha thought they had a solid rear axle. I know my sport does.

The issue I have is that most dealers have a pricepoint set on a vehicle already to get you 'in the door' (Internet pricing). So it is VERY hard to haggle. I like to haggle.:rant: I knew it was competitively and well priced, so I started finding little issues (cosmetic, etc) with this one here and there and was able to get another $1000 off.:naughty:

I've been searching craigs in san diego and LA private party. I want to stay away from the Iraq car lots and the dealers are asking 2-4K above private party. I have auto trader set up the same way. Maybe I should extend my search to Arizona & Nevada too?

Yeah, definitely. Not just some random lot. I got my first one from a Honda dealership.

so how did you set up your search?:smashputer:
I had two searches setup.
First search: V6 within 300 miles. 2006-2009, less than 75,000 miles. Less than $25k.
Second search: V8 within 500 miles. 2006-2009 less than 75,000 miles. Less than $25k.
It usually did the search once a day and e-mailed me results once a day. I would go check it manually still sometimes just because I wasn't sure how good the search feature was at e-mailing accurately. There were 3 or 4 days when it didn't e-mail me and there were new results that should have been e-mailed. I dunno if the saved searches just were broken temporarily or what. The car I eventually bought came through in a search but I had seen it through a manual search about 6 hours earlier. Best thing to do is just scan through the preview pictures and look for the hood scoop.
I was also fine with seeing Toyota dealer cars, that's where I eventually bought mine. All of the ones I saw on the internet and asked about pricing said they'd work with me on the pricing still. I'd say you can expect to get $1k or $1.5k off the values on Autotrader. Of course it all depends on how much they have on the vehicle and how long they've had it. You can get lots of info from the free Carfax reports. Of course you're looking at scheduled maintenance, accident free, etc, but you'll also be able to see how long they've had the car in their inventory. Longer time in inventory = motivated to sell.
Before you drive very far to see a car or fly to pick it up make sure you have a good list of questions to ask that should cover all bases. Then there are no surprises when you see if for the first time. I also liked to do most of this through e-mail since that means you'll have everything in writing.

The only issue with buying from a non-Yota dealer is that the vehicle will not be 'Certified', which basically means NO warranty. This didn't bother me at all because,...
