By the way everyone that knows me any my rig. Seems to be ALOT more air in Missouri from Colorado. I re-jetted the carb and took her out for a spin. Cracked the bellhousing. I think the transmission is trying to twist itself out or the engine is calling it a *****. I must say with another 5-6k feet of air above me, this thing is stupid quick for being on 40's.

I could be wrong but a cracked bell housing due to too much power is kinda rare. I would be inclined to think that maybe your bell housing was already cracked and the extra power of your motor just finished the damage.

What are you wanting to do to it? If your motor is making fun of the tranny and calling it a poon tang then you need to find a stronger tranny with a beefier bell housing.

well the transmission is not a vag by any means. TH400 is the king of non-electric autos. The ears on it were cut off flush with the engine block by the previous owner of the transmission. I assume it was for header clearance. I'm just going to get a new case and swap everything over and leave the ears on. I think it made the case weak, it is still drivable right now, but the crack is growing. I'm going to drill it tomorrow to see if i can stop it from cracking more. If it aint one thing it's another.

I had a th350 bell housing crack once. It was behind a mostly stock 327

Ha! well i drilled a hole at the end of the crack so hopefully it stops. Got all the beadlocks on and my fairly new optima wont hold a charge. Put it on a trickle charger for a full day and it just wont put out the cranking amps it should. Pretty sure it has some bad cells. Guess sitting for over a year isnt good for any battery.

I keep hearing that kinda stuff about Optimas. The one I bought two years ago is still running strong, but I don't think I'll buy another one.

The Sears Platinum is supposed to be a rebadged Odyssey...

Yea optima isn't as good as they used to be. I'm getting this one warrantied but i wont be buying another one either.
