Loose Steering common cause

Thanks. I just ordered a steering rack bushing kit from Wheelers.
Thread hijack before I start my own...
My steering fluid recently started to leak. I traced it to drive side area right above/around the cv. It only leaks while the car is on and when the wheels are turned. Anyone know what that might be?
Steering is fine if I keep the fluid full. When it's low, it makes a groaning sound while turning.
Welp, found out it only leaks when I turn the steering wheel left. seems like a I need a rack replacement

Well I finished replacing the rack bushings with a Wheelers kit. Had two left over metal sleeves. I guess they were for another model?
The write up said to press out the old bushings with a c-clamp but I couldn't figure that out without a cup or large socket. I ended up using a large screwdriver. You just stick it down the middle and wiggle it loose, Took me a while to figure that out.
I did not have to remove the wheels or the swaybar. Don't know why the write-up said you had to.
The steering is much nicer now but it revealed that I need to do an alignment. Before the steering was so vague I had no idea the alignment was off.

I went through the same things a few weeks ago everything under the front of my Runneralmost everything is new ie. Lbjs,INTRE, OTRE, ubj, coilovers, diffdrop, new rotors &your brakes also changedwas rear control armsarms and still had handling issues....then I spent 25. Bucks @ Toytec, on the steering rack bushings 2 hours later. Drives better than ever

I know it's a little late on this thread but just a good to know for the future for you or anyone else... a good way to test your steering issue is to jack each tire off the ground individually, grab the tire, and see if there is any play. Side to side play usually means inner tie rod and up and down play usually is the ball joint. To test your steering rack, have someone turn your steering back and forth while watching the rack. It really shouldn't be moving at all but there is some tolerance that's ok. If it's noticeably moving though, it's time to change bushings.
