Bought it stock Feb. 1 2014 from a dealership.
1997 SR5 4runner 4wd, 5 speed, 3.4L

I love music, so the first thing I did was put in the sound system that I had in my last 4Runner. JL Audio HD 1200/1 and 300/4v3 with a 13W7 and an isolated Stinger battery.



K&N Intake and Stinger agm sealed batteries front and rear.



LED tail lights

LR Upper Control Arms




Even with the dif drop the angle was a little much on my CV's so they got re-booted. New upper and lower ball joints as well.

Off with the Steel Cragars, bring on the Pro Comp's! ProComp 7069 16x8 with GoodYear Duratrac's 285/75/16













 
nice build. I like the 'All-Wheel' drive sign, when it's 4WD. lol.

What grill/brush guard is that (Company)? I have a similar one, but no idea the brand name on mine.

A nice like $5k into that suspension or what? :)

Glad you picked up some new tires and wheels. Looks so much better now, although those running boards are looking a bit out of place...haha

Were on the same page, haha running boards will be replaced with sliders eventually. May just pull them off in the mean time.

Lol yeah the dealership had no idea what was up from down. They were in the process of changing ownership and did not have things together.

Suspension was $1k.

I totally forget the brand of the guard, I've had it for years. It's been bent in an accident on my previous 4runner and bent back into place with an old suburban and a strap lol. When I save up enough it will be replaced with a plate bumper. Warn elite or ARB most likely.

Took off my running boards. I think it looks a lot better personally. I'll take better photos soon. What do you guys think? I'm saving up for BAMF sliders.

 
Thanks guys! It was nice meeting you Konkordmusk! Let me know next time you make a Hollister run. My BAMF sliders are being welded on in late Augest. After that I need to decide if I want to save for a supercharger or plate bumper. I want both really bad but won't be able to afford both for a long time. Opinions?

Really depends on your budget and needs. Do you feel like you need the power or just would like some extra power? With a 5 speed you shouldn't have as great of a power loss like an auto, so you might be fine without an SC for a bit. I know with my auto I would rather have a SC over a bumper. A SC is used every time I get in the 4runner, but a bumper is only useful 5-6 times a year.

Although a SC is anywhere between $800-2k and more if you get the URD add ons. It's an expensive and tedious modification, but the end result is awesome. You really have to be in for the long haul and understand it will take a lot of time and money to get right. A bumper is simple and little to no maintenance. So essentially you could have a bumper and a full set of skids for what you would have into just an SC (pending the SC price).

I would choose the SC over the bumper every time as it's more useful to me at this point in my build, but it is a headache at times.
 
No problem, it's a tough decision and there are times I think of removing the SC and getting some other parts that I want (UCA's and skids), but I really like having the extra power. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
 
Bamf sliders

I had Bay Area Metal Fabrication (BAMF) install my sliders last weekend. Powder Coated with 600 grit textured flat black. I am very happy with them.










The rear plastic fender on the bottom had to be trimmed for them to fit.
