Loud Runner's project

One of the amber led halo's in my headlight died so I turned off the other one in the mean time so it doesn't look silly.
The bi-xenon D2S projectors I usually use from Theretrofitsource.com were on back order for the last 6 weeks but they finally came in so now I can build myself a new set of retrofitted headlights. I sealed the last headlights I built with black RTV, which was too strong of an adhesive because when I baked them to pull them apart I kept chipping the glass, but no separation of the lens.

The new set I ordered from ebay, the lenses came right off as usual. I baked them for 5 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Painted them with Engine Enamel Low Gloss Black to match my fender flares and hood.

I will be installing the Switch back halo's so they will be white when on, and flashing amber when I turn on my turn indicator.

I hear the paint fumes can cause fogging inside the lens if you do not let them properly dry, so this build will continue next week. Thanks for looking!

@LoudRunner I installed the same xsb halos on mine and if you have any questions feel free to dm and be leary with the relays that come with them, they blew within the first month. Luckily they come with lifetime warranty I believe , so if one day they are not working and your looking for shorts check the relay first:thumb:

Those are amazing pictures. Somehow I always missed this build thread. Quick question on your ladder and swing out. Did you have to do anything special or request any special fab work to get the swingout to work?

I've got the Gobi ladder too, and I'm looking into my options for a rear swingout.

Thanks! I did not ask for anything special, it is just the regular Gobi ladder with the regular Shrockworks bumper + swing out. They do touch eachother in 2 spots when all closed up, which has taken off a tiny spot of powder coat on each spot. But I love how snug they are, very uniform to the vehicle, and no rattle/movement whatsoever.

The touching doesn't interfere with the latching of the tire swing does it though?

The tire swing out still latches fine. It is very close though, if the ladder stuck out 1 cm more it probably would not close. I was very happy everything closed up okay.

Thanks man. Just gathering info to make my decision. Keep up the awesome build!

Very happy with the light output of these headlights.

3m aluminum tape around the projectors to reduce light pollution

Used a dremel tool to smooth out the back, then JB welded in the provided conversion clip for the D2S projectors.

JB welded on the halo's and the projector shrouds

All finished

Finally pulled out the messed up flywheel. Not sure what caused this, or if it is just a cheap product...

Top: new China flywheel. Right: broken one I pulled out. Bottom: Toyota oem

I'll be resurfacing an oem flywheel I pulled out of another 3rd gen instead of putting in another one from China.

Just stopped by Stealth Custom Series to pick up my set of F5's in Matte Dark Bronze 16x8 3.5" backspacing. I will be going with 315/75/16 Goodyear Mtr's. Can't wait to get them mounted. Huge thanks to Vin for all of his help. Top notch customer service.
