Lowering Lower Control Arm WITHOUT loosening body bolts?

I'm attempting to install a Daystar lift. After reading tons of install posts, it sounds like the best method is where you lower the LCA.

Questions- How hard (if even possible) is it to lower the LCA without lossening the lca to body bolts? Are there some type of springs or washers within the lca to body bolts that would cause tension? I saw some references to using a bottle jack to lower...where would that be wedged?

I'm asking because rust is an issue on my 04 NY T4R & those lca bolts look to be a pia.

Here is the method I'm trying to follow posted by "Galactic 04"...there is a great diagram picture showing the steps. For me, steps 1-3 already loosened, hoping to replace step 4 with jacking or prying of some sort.

you can try but i think youll either have to disconnect UBJ and pry down LCA or just loosen the bolts

Do yourself a huge favor and loosen the bolts. Usually you just need to loosen one and that's enough.
Prying down on the lca sucks and I ended up pinching the lbj boots.
It's so easy the other way, and you have to get an alignment anyway.

I was afraid of that lol. I'm thinking about putting the truck up on ramps then to just to the rust removal, torch heating, then hopefully loosening. Then it'll be ready for when I attempt the install.

Anyone know what size the bolts are? My largest socket is 19mm so a trip to HF may be in order.

19mm or 3/4 will fit the bolts.

They're going to have be loosened eventually to be aligned anyway. I just use an 18" breaker bar and if I can't get enough on that I have a couple cheater bars I throw in the mix.
