I know that you probably didn't mean it, and you didn't think before you typed, but I do take offense to that because I, and my family is Mexican. Don't mean to hiack or go on a rant, but I hate how people think that Mexicans can't buy or "own" really nice cars, houses, ect. It just, grinds my gears, lol.

Also, well said DarksideSurf.

People need to stop stereotyping. Shouldn't judge a book by its cover, nor should a person be judge by skin color. As an FYI, the #2 richest person in the world is the CEO of a Mexican telecom company. I don't remember the name or company, just that he has surpassed Warren Buffet.

As far as 4Runners are concerned, do whatever what makes you happy. I know some people who would by a nice car, SUV or truck only to have it garaged. Some even considered renting a vehicle cause they didn't want to drive what they bought for the sole and exact purpose of the vehicle that's garaged because the paint would be chipped if they drove it.

Very well said Uneek. I completely agree with you.

Anyways, back to the original subject of the thread, scottputty, do whatever you please with the 4Runna. It's your 4Runna, your money, your style, your personality, and certainly not anyone elses.

I was actually thinking of doing the same since my T4R was a 2WD, better handling and all.

But something that happened today made me think otherwise.

Now I think the T4R are not made to lower if you plan to go off unpaved road adventures.

I barely was off road, just climbing a small grass and dirt hill.

Deffently don't drop the back or anything if you do still go offroad sometimes. I live in the city now and no chance of offroad. I pull a waverunner(2006 rxp) with mine and the back still don't move because it not heavy at all. I just think that the 2wd runner would look better if it sits level. By the way they do have some awsome looking lifted runners on this site. I still love that look to, just not for me anymore.

I'm a Mexican. I own a 4Runner. I'm also an attorney. I have owned and still own several European luxury vehicles, and know other Mexicans that own vehicles that make our 4Runners look like bottom-end budget cars (and they bought them with honest, hard-earned money). I don't think I have the right to say who should own what, or what they should do with it. Now I'm not going to rant and rave about ethnic stereotypes and other such ignorant nonsense, but I really don't need to be reading this type of crap in a forum that I suppose, was designed for all of us here that have a common interest/hobby in a certain type of vehicle to share thoughts, ideas and information in an effort to enjoy our vehicles to the max. I'd appreciate if we all keep our comments to that, if anything, for the sake of our children who will (hopefully) someday, be reading this as well.

That being said, I bought the 4Runner mainly for my wife, since we are having a baby girl in May. I figured it's a safe, reliable vehicle and will turn her into a proud, classy soccer mom (lol) and not have her throw out her back geting the baby seat in and out of the car. I traded in a Volvo S80 T6 because it sat so low, that I knew it would be a problem with the baby. But I also don't like the "raked" look of the 4Runner, and my wife complains it's too hard to see backing up. I'm interested in leveling out the truck so it looks nicer and so my wife can drive more comfortably. Besides, here in Southern California, lowered SUV's seem to be quite the rave, and why not have 4Runner owners in the spotlight as well?

With respect to the springs at issue here, it seems they lower the front and back of the truck equally, which I assume will have it end up with the same raked look. I don't want to pay $550.00 to just use the rears, so if anyone finds an alternative, I'd be eager to know, so please keep us posted.

lowered suspension on 4th Gen 4Runner

Hey Jason (Burtman),
I read about your Battlez springs from Japan. I would definitely be interested in seeing a pair installed and pretty sure lots of other guys and gals would like that too! I guess there's some guys that would be interested in just dropping the back a few inches. There' someone on this site that adds a billet aluminum washer in various thicknesses to the front spring area to lift and level with the rear. That person states that there are no affects on the steering and suspension but no lowering. If can, pictures would be good on these Battlez springs.

Re: lowered suspension on 4th Gen 4Runner

I have another set of Japan imported springs, in stock, which is normally 3 month wait. For anyone wanting this last set at a great deal, contact me asap.

Is there a way to just lower the rear about 1.5"? or maybe 2" max?

Yes, I can now sell lowering springs for just the rear only, or the full set. Is anyone still interested in this?

Buy a car. You dont deserve a 4runner!

Not that you dont 'deserve' a 4R...I just feel there is so much technology in the 4R that would be wasted if you drop it. But if you are a rich mexican than go ahead.....haha that was a joke for all you sensitive ones.

All of you are worse then catty elementary girls. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Deal with it.

None of you would last a day in Hawaii....where you get teased everyday....

sticks and stones kind of situation.....it builds character!!!

Ill be awaiting any sensitive comments coming back to me....you can call my "Im sensitive hotline" 1 800 GROW BALLS.

Pm Sent regarding the lowering of the rear only.

Sorry for delay, just got the current prices back from Japan, PM'd

I can do 2" lowering springs, for REAR ONLY, on 03-09 4runners. This will make your truck look just about as level as the front.

Cost will be $399.
