Lumen's "G8 LED Headlight Conversion Kit"!!!

I have the upgraded LED fog lights (which I get tons of compliments on) cause they look amazing both during the day and at night, but hated the difference between the Headlight and fog light. So, I've ordered and finally received this G8 Lumen LED Headlight conversion kit from CarID.com stay tuned for my review and install pictures!

Im interested in this. I have researched online, and am by no means an expert, but I thought I remembered LED lighting is somewhat similar to HID. Being that the light output and distance to the projector plays a big part and so the light projected outward is not correct giving it a bad output. Like HIDs in our projectors have glare above the cutoff line. Also are LEDs at the point where they are bright enough yet affordable in a simple plug and play application? I could be wrong but that is my understanding.

There are plenty of cheaper ones out there. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to car parts. And there are things I won't skimp on (i.e lighting, suspension, steering etc) I looked at the link you sent me... Diffrent specs, mine come with a 5 year replacement warranty (3+ than DD), and I'm probably paying more because of the brand. I've been using Lumen on all my vehicles and have never had any issues. I love the quality of their products and don't mind paying more.

You got me there, bud. I don't know about any of that. I've seen people running them, and the difference in lighting is outstanding. Don't worry, I'll have more to follow after install.

Glad you brought it up, bud. I just got back in from the garage and everything turned out great. It all fits in the housing, I will however be drilling out about a quarter size hole and adding some type of mesh so that there is plenty of circulation for the fan with little to no moisture. Love the look, they match my fog LED's perfectly. I saw some people went with the HID's but I just didn't want to go that route right now.

X2! If you can, try to snap a picture of the lights projecting on a building wall or a garage. How would you judge the output in comparison to the stock halogen bulbs? How is the beam pattern (an dark spots etc.)?

I'll post some tonight, the pattern is wider than the stock and the output is better but obviously white instead of soft yellow. Pics to come as soon as it gets dark out here.

Hey, I haven't drilled anything yet. Reason(s) being... 1.) everything fit inside of the housing & 2.) i i owner those housings are meant to keep water and moisture out, and if I drill into there it'll be counterproductive. I'll have to do some. Ore research before I take this on. In the meantime, I don't travel extended periods at time for them to get too hot, and it's currently cool here so that will help.

Please post pics of the back of the headlight... you said everything fits inside, I can't see how that can be with the back cover on... moisture will get inside the headlight without the back cap. I'd bet even in cold weather as those lights warm up you will notice condensation on the inside of the lens.

For HID kits a hole is drilled and a grommets installed so that the cap can be resealed.

When I did my HID's one of the caps was not fully sealed and just washing the truck caused condensation inside the housing.

Again best of luck, but not understanding psycially how your getting that style of "bulb" inside the housing with the cap sealed against water intrusion.

I recall somewhere posted, maybe from a led light manufacturer warning about installing fan cooled lights in enclosures like we have due to not having enough air circulation.
I can see where issues may arise from heat failure due to recirculated hot air in enclosure.
That's why some manufacturers used heat sink materials.

If it were me and I had to have LED in this location I'd use a LED as you described above I found the flexiable heat sink that could be passed through a small hole cut on the back of the cap and sealed with silcone.

Just can't see how the OP is going to get the cap back on and seal the headlight....
