I see that it does not have HID headlights, consistent with Thai's post in another thread.
The departure angle of 23 degrees, even with 3 inches of air suspension lift, seems disappointing.
Nevertheless, I'd look hard at this truck, if I thought I could get one in the next few months (and get one without some of the techno junk, like radar cruise control, that will ruin an attractive price if they are all shipped loaded). Talking to the local Lexus dealer that sounds unlikely.

So, it's like Toyota want the LC to be an off-roader, BUT did not want to give it everything it needs to be perfect. :bash: You may laugh, but the radar/laser cruiser control rocks! I love it on my Sienna!
It sounds stupid to have it, but it actually does work as advertised! It's like having a 3rd eye looking at the road...just in case the other 2 eyes are distracted. 
It's like when you first use rain-sensing wipers...you thought that it was kinda stupid, but after a while, it really works well! I am getting into the groove of these new technos...damn Mercedes has left me in the dark ages for too damn long!

You speak the truth. It seems silly to have given the LC KDSS but no air suspension, and the LX cross-linked shocks with the air suspension.
I'm sure the laser cruise is cool, and I don't know what it costs on the Sienna, but on the LX it's $2850. Seems like a lot; but then I guess you don't buy an LX for "value".
I am looking that the LC, I think it's a very nice truck. For the money, though, I wish it came with Lexus service.

Well, in all seriousness, let us know. You probably won't need service before I'm ready to buy but if you do I'd like to hear how it goes. I've never owned a Toyota, so I guess I don't really know what their service is like, but the local Lexus guys say they have a fleet of 338 loaners (which seems unbeliveable, but it's a pretty big dealership). I drive an Acura now and their service is OK but not particularly special - Lexus sells it as part of the product, so I guess they think it must be pretty good.
How's the LC working out? Driveline all quiet? It won 4x4 of the year from Petersen's 4wheel and Off-road magazine, which you might check out if interested.

My Toyota dealership is pretty good service, nothing special, although you do get that "good 'ol boy" feeling. There is complimentary car service - a dude will take you where you need to go. My salesman told me that he'll set me up with a car when I get the LC serviced. I don't know if that's because I have a LandCruiser or because I've purchased 5 Toyotas in the past.
Nothing much to report, no driveline noises. In fact, it's a bit quieter than the 4runner. Thanks for the heads up on the 4x4 of the year, I'll check it out.
By the way, my dealership just got another LC, a weird light blue color. Just saw it when I drove by the other day. Also saw a white '08 Sequoia Limited with 20's - very nice.

I should also mention that I live 100 miles from the LandRover dealership and they would drive out to my house, leave the loaner, drive my LR3 back, get it fixed/serviced, then return - all with no charge.

Looks like a beautiful truck but I don't think I would be able to justify over $83k for an SUV. I like the features it has though.
I really can't complain at all about my Toyota dealers service with my 4Runner. They always give me a loaner when I request one and have the truck finished that same day. Their loaners consist of Scion xB's, Camry's, Corolla's, Tundra's (my next request), 1 Sienna, and 1 Highlander. The last time my truck went in they gave me an xB which was intersting. In addition, my writer usually gives me one of the newer loaners because they know I keep them clean!
I take my parents Lexus in for service and the only differences are free carwash, more personal environment, and free food! They give out ES350, IS250, and RX350/400h loaners. Since I bring in a GX, I usually get an RX loaner. I have noticed that the loaners at the Toyota dealer are newer than the ones at the Lexus dealer.

Thanks to everyone for the comments on Toyota service. You all make it sound quite nice. And after all, you but a Toyota because you don't ever want to see the service writer anyway.

Was reading John Stewart's new review of the LX-570. How about this for some misinformation:
Unlike the iconic 4x4 Land Cruiser, the LX does not offer locking differentials, relying instead on electronic traction control (A-TRAC) to prevent wheelspin. Our (considerable) experience with A-TRAC is that it provides enhanced traction and off-road capability sufficient for any unplanned event, and then some. The Toyota Land Cruiser, with available electronic lockers, might be better suited for those who expect to use their SUV as a 4x4 recreation vehicle, but both vehicles have multi-terrain ABS, which works at low speeds on-road or off, and both vehicles have Crawl Control. Crawl Control is designed for use on steep downhill trails when control is the highest priority. It holds back the vehicle, making sure the speed is appropriate to the steepness of the terrain, so all the driver has to do is steer.

Yes, I have noticed that over the years. In this particular case - very old stuff!
Guess I was surprised since the same person reviewed the new LC just a few weeks prior and was accurate (not stating separate lockers). Perhaps he just regurgitated tand old Word file and just added a few new items without really proof-reading.
No matter, I rely and put more faith into Edmunds and other sites over NCTD anyhow.
Besides, both the TLC and LX570 are way over my budget (and past the point of diminishing returns for my uses) even without counting tuition for three kids!
