bumper valence mod

While I was laying in bed last night, just getting off of T4R, a crazy idea came into my head. Carving TRD into some part of my front lower valence. I don't know what I was thinking about when this popped in my head, but never the less, it sounded like a good idea to me.

I think part of the reason I thought of it is because I have a bent up bumper sitting in the back yard with an equally smashed up valence. So when I got home today I unbolted the bent up old valence from the trashed bumper. It was already cut in half so just the driver side part was by itself.

Here's what I started with....

I then got a TRD image from Google and taped it to the broken of piece of valence.

Then, using a box cutter, started cutting. I was expecting a sharp box cutters to go through this thing pretty easily. It WAS NOT EASY whatsoever.

Here's what it looks like after about two hours of cutting with a box cutter. It is far from perfect.

I really botched the R and a little bit of the D. The T looks good though! About quarter of the way through the R, I got impatient and started rushing it. Luckily, I ended up with no wounds throughout the ordeal. It definitely would be more difficult with an actual valence since it's all one piece. I could easily move and turn this one any way I wanted and cut whereas with a full valence it'd be really tough and time consuming.

Overall though, from a distance, I think it turned out better than expected. Hopefully some of you with better tools can get ideas from this!
