Hey everyone,



I have asked tons of questions, commented a decent amount, but don't have the time to live on the website like I used to back when I was younger and I had a '05 Tacoma.

Sold the '05 Tacoma, sold the wife's '09 Tundra and lived in Boston without a car for a few years. Now we are here with 2016 SR5 Premium. With the military moving me around, trying to save money, a kid, and life; the build took the way side. The USAF is sending me to Anchorage, AK (by choice) and the wife finally said to get to work and build her up.



I will be driving from AZ to AK in a few weeks, and figured it would be good to start a build thread, weak as it is, so I can post travel pics as I go hopefully.



Current mods:



Baja UtilSpy Rack with single row light bar

LED High beams

HID Low beams

LED fogs

Switch Pro8100 to control the lights

Custom badges, front and rear
RedArc Tow Pro elite brake controller





Purchased and sitting in garage, will install once settled in AK



Toytec Boss Lift kit

Baja S8 amber for bumper

SmittyBilt X20 winch

Factor 55 FlatLink





For now, that is all I got. Nothing exciting, but hopefully some fresh pictures and add-ons soon.

Installed a RedArc Tow Pro elite brake controller the other day.
Unlike most controllers where you have the control box out (most people put it in a console box or by drivers knees. The Tow Pro elite you can tuck the control box away, and control the proportional brakes from just a switch in your dash.
Using the pigtail harness provided by Toyota and the harness for the Tow Pro, this was a super easy install and the product is amazing.

It was a beautiful one indeed, and I would suggest anyone who likes to get out of dodge to do it. Beautiful countryside.

High clearance cut/mod

Did a quick high clearance mod/cut. I think I have to adjust the inner fender to make it a little tighter and cleaner.

Happy with the results. I basically taped the lower fender line, then cut at the bottom of the tape, to give it a little more depth.

I am also in AZ. Work in Phoenix and go North each weekend to my place in Prescott Valley to cool off, suck in some Mountain air and camp/wheel. Thanks for your service and best of luck to you in Alaska! Gorgeous pictures by the way.

Arctic Ocean trip

Just got back from a trip from Anchorage to the Arctic Ocean, via the Dalton Highway.
1700 miles of mainly dirt roads, beautiful hills, some dall sheep, caribou, and a chilly morning swim.

Updates

since my last post...

I installed the T9, which I am super happy with. I am an apple/iphone user so the android base has its difficulties, but I am still WAY happier than stock unit.

I have also upgraded my gears to 4.56 for pulling my small offroad camping trailer. Great investment and super happy I did it. I did a little section on the "re-gear" thread, you can read it here.
