MAF and too lean?

So in my last post...

I was complaining about my new MAF sensor , the light having gone off, and then the engine light reapeering after 25 miles. I finally got the code read. 25, apparently means it's running too lean.....How do I fix this? Or should I leave it to a mech? I am, after all, a mildly unskilled yoda worker, But too poor to feed the pros.

Well, you need to narrow it down. If you're lean it's because you've got too much air or not enough fuel, now you need to figure out why before you can evaluate your odds of fixing it.

Off the top of my head, a simple test would be to borrow a fuel pressure tester from a chain store and make sure your pump is working properly. You can also have a good hard look at your intake boot between the throttle body and the MAF and make sure there's no leaks or tears there allowing unmetered air in. I'm not a mechanic either though, so I'm sure more experienced folks will chime in with more suggestions.

I think it's great that you're willing to get in there and get your baby running right.

you cant calibrate the MAF.
