UPDATE,

Im building a storage box in the back w/Cooler, Also pictures of the the light switches are on the way.


Box will have, 2 Drawers (one 9 in. and one 19 in wide) and 1 cooler box (about 9 in wide) with total of 40in (extra inches will be width of wood). width. Its going to go from the edge of the carpet to the back seats (long). Under drawers and cooler will be a slide out table that will be at least 30in long. Also total height will be 8.5in. Its an idea now with wood in the garage. YAY! a project!

So do I. I ran into a snag, I made the box ready to insert drawers BUT i didnt measure for the table on the bottom. Im thinking my only option is to make the bottom 2in. taller, and install another "box" under it, to house the table. Hummm its fun so far.
 
wow! Your rig is amazingly cool man! How are those PIAAs on the roof working out for ya? I seriously want to do something similar myself. I already have two PIAA 520s on my bumper grille guard and i love them. Did you drill mounting holes for those 520s into the roof rack rail? How'd you go about the wiring? Does it really help light up the road/trees?

Everything works well, I had to really spread the light for the roof. 2 outside are almost 45 degrees 2 on the inside are a little facing out. They work very well at lighting up everything. I used a local audio shop to wire them for me. Ill get better pictures of the wiring today. (if I remember)

Drawers are built, now I am going to research how to protect MDF wood from the elements. (pictures soon to come on the progress)
 
Hey Magert, very nice build so far.

I have the same PIAA ATPs as yours and currently have them mounted up on a basket but haven't done the wires yet.

I'm not sure what's the best way to get the wires into the cabin and pretty much the whole setup so i went to a reputable off roading shop in my area and they quoted me $850 as they said it's close to a 10 hr job.

I know you had your wires professionally done too, may i ask how much you paid? How did they get the wires through the cabin and into the engine bay? i'm gonna call a couple more places but if installation is this much $$$$ i'm prob gonna attempt it myself.

$850?!?!?! holy crap!! That is alot of money to spend on wiring. I can understand spending a third of that to run wiring since it will take a novice (or someone with OCD) a day or so but not 10 hours for professionals. If you're willing to do it yourself, I would highly recommend grabbing the materials and tackling this job on your own.

I ran 4 lights up top and used the stock wiring bundle through the rear hatch. I don't want to clutter up Magert54's build thread so I can PM you pictures and general steps to give you an idea of what you're getting yourself into.

@ Magert54 - I would go with automotive carpet. However, some have used bed liner to protect the wood.

Update on the final cost of the wiring, Its was $400 and 4 hours total. Also, I bought carpet from home depot (grey), some hinges, and Rustolium Latex spary (as seen on TV, the guy sprays a screen door and puts it on a little boat bottom and goes out on the water) Almost done, I have to cover with carpet, and spray insides. Pictures still to come.
