I had an 03 V8 4Runner with the grey plastic cladding that had some major fading.

I used Magic Erasers on all the plastic (bumpers/cladding) and it came out looking like new. Got a picture of the damage?

Good idea. If you don't have considerable experience with a buffer - don't go there!

Okay I'll start this off by saying I'm an idiot. I didn't know magic eraser could hurt car paint. I bumped into our outside fridge last night when we came home late, and ina brain fart so grabbed a magic eraser. I then freaked out and got it washed. Today it looks dull and there's still some of the white scuff where I hit.

TLDR What can I do to fix magic eraser on my front bumper? Say a product at Napa or something. I have a polisher/buffer if needed.

Easy fix. Take a utility knife and blue tape. Tape off the affected area. Wet it with WARM water (that is key) cut out the area. Your going to need to press real hard to cut into the metal. Once you remove the affected area mount it to your wall as a memory and the just put a bumper sticker over the hole.

^^ I use this product on a soft bath towel (slightly damp) to fix slight paint damage & also to clean up headlight plastic.
- works very well

Several years ago, my wife was sideswiped by a mini vans side mirror, doing 60 mph...lady doing an improper lane change.
We had 5 feet of black plastic smudge, on a gray Volvo wagon quarter panel.
- I successfully hand polished out all the paint damage, with the kit...$$ will spent

The last car i detailed, didn't even use any wax.
Just Novus hand polished the whole car of paint oxidation to restore the factory finish.
- end result is a shinny finish & slippery (to bead off water)
- even used it on the hood of our black RAV4, to remove water marks (left behind from washing)
- also use Novus to polish alloy rims / any brake dust is very easy to clean off later

I used to be scared to death of getting pinstripes.

Now it cracks me up when people look at my passenger side and say "What the HELL happened to your truck?" HA! It's all good memories I tell them.

I love when people go, "do you off-road in that!?" and I'm looking at my passenger side wondering, "what the **** do you think did all those pin stripes? giant 6ft tall shopping carts!?" O_O

Though I won't lie I get the 4Runner really nicely detailed every once in a while (she's well overdue for it since I moved up to Bend) and get her buffed. It doesn't get rid of all the pin striping but it does dull it out so she doesn't look like Freddy Kuger decided to key my 4Runner. Black is not a good colour for pinstripes lol

Okay. I did that, but now I have a hole in my bumper because my wife doesn't like bumper stickers. Can I ask about that in this thread, or should I start another?

NautiBlue ^^ Don't remember the commercials, but was asked to order some when I worked in Purchasing (for a Tier1 Parts Manufacturing Plant), decades ago & had to try it. We used it to polish Plexiglas SPC work stations in an oily-mist environment.

So many uses for the Novus system - even takes rust color deposits off painted surfaces & restores the original finish.
- I detailed a car once, with 100's of pin-heads of rust starting
- worst was on bottom half of exterior (from inadequate winter washing, so salt damage)
- and rust spot/blisters, on roof front at top of windshield, looked ugly
NOVUS effectively left the spots largely unnoticeable to the untrained eye & further sealed problem areas (for some measure of short term protection). I use NOVUS because it has some cutting action (probably similar to 1200-2500 grit) & sealer/shine characteristics, like a good quality wax. Originally the Nissan paint looked so dull, boring & neglected.
- afterwards, so bright & refreshed plus the clear coated pearl white, just popping like new
- even removed caked on brake dust, off the aluminum alloy rims
Using Novus was a transformation & SUV sold for top $$ above kbb valuations.

Paint looks good but I'm cringing hard at the rusting license plate fasteners. A pair in stainless steel would help immensely

LOL ^^ I use stainless screws on my own vehicles / but the white Rogue wasn't mine...sons vehicle.
- I was asked to detail SUV & get it E-tested plus Safety Checked prior to sale
I wish I had taken some Nissan before pics. / was a night & day difference, afterwards...using Novus kit.

The licence plate & fastener rust, differently stuck out like a sore thumb.
- a good 10 minute cleanup, made it presentable / wire wheeled the nut head & Extend rust converter, prior to some paint

I liked the wee-challenge / son bought a new RX350 & when I saw the rusted licence plate nuts, in Lexus parking lot, I said:
- your NOT trading this vehicle in at the Dealership, few ugly spots and their appraiser knocks a 1,000 $$ off, for each one
- purchase the new Lexus outright and don't muddy up the deal, with a trade-in...or Dealership essentially takes it for Free
