I have my old tip and resonator if anyone is interested.

My kept the stock muffler so sound remains the same.

Have a little one on the way and we like to watch DVD's, so I did not want the exhaust to inhibit the movies and it keeps the wife happy.

Looks good. I have my routed out the side too and want to put a tip on it in the summer. I was looking at Magnaflow but couldn't make up my mind. What number is this one? Length? Cut? Do you have any pic's from the rear???
This is a great mod! One of my favorites.

I changed mine too about a month ago. Great to be able to lower the rear window wout fumes.

Looks good! I am about to put a 50-series SUV Flowmaster muffler and a double walled or rolled tip out the side just like you. Got the muffler yesterday.

So you kept the stock muffler but deleted the resonator....how much louder did it get? Noticeable in the cabin?

The beautY of this mod is the cabin noise did mot increase at all. Zero! I'm not sure about the specs. I will take some rear shots. Overall I'm very happy with this mod.

I did not replace the muffler. I left it stock. Do not want any increased noise and removing the resonator did not enhance the noise.

I needed a center inlet and offset exit muffler to 'match' the stock locations.

I am not doing it myself. I have a welder and have welded some exhaust parts before. It possible but after looking at it more closely, I do not think its as close to a direct replacement that I initially thought. If you look at the stock muffler inlet, its in the center, But if you look at it more....its centered left-right but is towards the top of the muffler in terms of top-bottom. There may be enough room for the flowmaster to tuck up a little higher than the stock muffler....I do not know. So it 'may' be needed to make a step down from stock pipe to new flowmaster muffler. And I am not sure about the muffler exit location....it may be fine. The need to cut off the resonator .....no big deal but obtaining a bent piece of 2.5" thats flared out to attach to the existing exhaust piping (add the fact I do not want a 90 degree bend.....more like 45-60) its not that easy. I think the flowmaster is shoter so there would be a need for more pipe (thats flared). Muffler shop said $100 with a tip I like. I paid $120 for the muffler. So $220 and I'll be happy.

If all the parts were ready to tack and weld.....all I need to do was take a sawall to the old stuff...I would be in it to win it.

I will try to record the exhaust sounds when its done on my Flip (probably next week) I cannot find a video of 50 series (SUV muffler only) with the 4.7 motor so I am curious to see the results. Flowmaster claims minimal exhaust noise/resonance at hwy speeds. I want something relatively quiet but sounds nice at WOT.

I will make a thread on it when I get it in and I will make a video with my flip camera. Not super quality recording but its all I got. Figure I'll try to record the outside and then take it for a ride with camera inside for some distorted representation of the cabin noise lol
