maint light

The Maint light stays on for a few seconds and flashes after i start it. Longer than normal. Then it goes off after 5 or so seconds. Maybe i just never noticed it staying on and its normal? Also does anyone have a service schedule list for these? I can't seem to find one in the owners manual. Its an 05 SR5.

Do these warn you that its getting close to an oil change? Could that be why its flashes then turns off?

"The "MAINT" light is only a timer for your oil change. It will light up every 5000 miles +/-. You just reset it after every oil change. Now if you have a "Check Engine" light, that could mean trouble of some sort."

Mine just started flashing on start up and sure enough it's been about 5k since my last oil change.

Much like my Prius, is starts to give you the brief flash on start ups as you approach 5000 miles. Then after you pass 5000 miles it will stay on.
