Major headlight condensation

Only modification to the headlight was replacing the h11 with h9's and 9005 with 9006's.

Noticed this starting as the weather cooled. This morning it was even worse than the picture below. The entire highbeam area looked like the this as well.

This is the driver's side. The passenger side is completely clear.

I opened up and removed both bulbs and used a hair dryer to air out the headlight. It worked but the next day after driving the condensation returns.

Took those out a month later.

Just using the H9's and I replaced the rear seal with a factory new one. Been like this since June.

The suggestions of using silicone around the grommet were unsuccessful and it did not seal.


So moisture must be getting in somehow even after airing it out.

This just started happening to my driver's side fog light. I changed them out for LED bulbs, but don't think that's the cause (why doesn't this happen to the passenger side?). This has been happening after I wash the truck (I wash with a hose, not a pressure washer). I'm planning on going to the dealer to see about replacing it.

My headlights look fantastic though! And it's worth mentioning I installed DDM HIDs, and I temporarily left out the plastic cover (I didn't have 1" drill bit to make a hole). Though I do have a bug who managed to die inside the housing.

If your warranty was up I'd say add an additional breathing tube

I just noticed the same problem on my '14 Trail. Driver side headlight had condensation in it causing my HID bulb to turn on quite a bit slower than the passenger. going to take it in this week for hopefully a warranty replacement.

My drivers headlight did that so I swapped it under warranty.

As far as the foglight goes I had that happen as well but the cause of that was a bad seal on the light itself. check the bulb on the side where the condensation is on the foglight. My culprit was cheap ebay fog light bulbs. I grabbed a set from XenonDepot for the fogs the nice ultinon set and haven't had an issue and they have been in for about 3 months now
