Marines had to surrender weapons.....

I can about assure you it. When the while SOFA crap went down before the pull out we were almost grounded because we had no crew served or could not carry anything that was 7.62 or we would be in prison with the rest of the Iraq best. We had a security team missing for almost 4 days and no one knew anything until one of them called home to his wife and she called her congressmen and told him.

I know it is not popular but we need to have a recap of al nasaria back in 03 and just deal with this isis issue.

I'm still trying to find more on this Marines and Yemen. Not finding much at all.

1) Rant not over.

2) MEU. Marine Expeditionary Unit. You should know this. Lol

3) See attached Pic.

4) This is what happens when you elect a "brother" into the WH. Working with them isn't going to make anything better, it's going to make it a LOT worse. Look at what's happening now.

a) Bowe Berghdal was traded for FIVE terrorists, AND ISN'T BEING CHARGED WITH DESERTION AFTER 13 SOLDIERS WERE KILLED LOOKING FOR THE ****ING TRATOR.

b) Shit like Yemen is happening all over, just not being heard about.

c) A Jordanian pilot is murdered by ISIS, Jordan launches strikes THE NEXT DAY, and vows “strong, earth-shaking and decisive” response until they run "out of fuel and bullets".

d) Two(Three?) AMERICANS are killed, and Osama does NOTHING.

The two times I was over there, it was so frustrating because we couldn't do ANYTHING. We would see people "dicking" us, basically their observers, and couldn't do anything about it because they weren't "engaging" us. What should have happened, was we should've put a bullet between his eyes.

They use to be afraid of us. They thought Marines were robots. The CamelBack we wore were our battery packs. BECAUSE WE DIDN'T BACK DOWN. WE ****ED SHIT UP, LIKE MARINES ARE SUPPOSED TO DO.

"When it absolutely, positively, has to be destroyed over night."

You want to complain how many troops you're losing, but you want to do nothing about it??

LET US DO OUR JOB!!!! STOP TYING OUR HANDS BEHING OUR BACKS!!!

Iraq AND Afghanistan should've been like Iraq was at first. Do something shady, hearts and minds. Out past curfew, hearts and minds. Watching us then run, hearts and minds.

Nothing is going to change with this man in the office. We're going to be known as a ***** nation, because no one want's to do anything.

There use to be a time when we were able to stand up, take care of what needed to be taken care of. Where no one wanted to **** with us because we would DESTROY them. Now, everyone want's a piece of the USA. They all want to **** with us. Because they know that we won't do anything.

The sad part is that this pussification of our nation isn't just in politics.

There's "Time Out" cards in Boot Camp. These people aren't being trained to fight. They're being trained to *****. I can't tell you the number of times that I've yelled at some dumb ass boot for doing something stupid, and he/she has walked away crying, or has gotten an attitude right back, like their some entitled little shit. We use to be able to go out to the tree line and teach them a lesson. Now, it's called hazing. I'm sorry BOOT, you ain't got shit on me, or what I've done. And I know there are people out there that I don't have shit on. And I have no problem with that. BUT, I WILL respect them.

Not long ago, we had Medal of Honor recipient Major General James E. Livingston, USMC(RET), come speak at the hospital. I had a CHIEF (E7 for those that don't know Navy Ranks) come into my office to make sure everything was locked on for "this EX-Marine." I quickly corrected him, and reminded him that the ONLY EX-Marines are ones that get Dishonorably Discharged for drugs or stupid shit like that, and that he should know that. His response: "It doesn't matter." I told him to get the **** out of my office.

This shit is getting worse, and people need to WAKE UP AND SEE IT.

I wish these mother****ers would come here. I swear on all that is holy, I will raid the nearest armory, get on base somehow, raid the ASP, and build the Runner like you've NEVER seen a civilian vehicle.

@Ol' Blue:

Lets get the fams together and find some land in BFE. We'll work our stockpile up, and be ready for whatever happens, because it's getting worse.

And people wonder why Vets are so paranoid and "crazy".

Semper Fidelis Blue.

****EDIT****

I'm putting this in here because, yes, I know I was typing Osama, and his name is Obama. I don't care. He's a terrorist, so he will be referred to as Osama by me.

Spot on Doc. Been to both theaters with the 10th Mountain, 2 to the chest one to the head as you walk over them, it's the only way it will ever be over.

The problems in the US Military are a symptom of the country's politics and core issues

This. There's also no unified will in this country to do anything about issues like illegal immigration.

Moreover, the so-called "pussification" of America started wayyyyyy before Obama, so like him or not, I don't think I'd blame him for the way things are at present. I'm pretty sure that if there had been an internet in 1970, people would have been complaining about the same thing.

So this happened today just 5 miles from the base housing 320 marines.

It seems ISIS has taken most if not all of the surrounding territory in this province.

IS burns to death 45 in Iraq

Baghdad - Islamic State (IS) militants have burned to death 45 people in the western Iraqi town of al-Baghdadi, BBC quoted the local police chief on Tuesday.
Exactly who these people were and why they were killed is not clear, but Col Qasim al-Obeidi said he believed some were members of the security forces. IS fighters captured much of the town, near Ain al-Asad air base, last week.
Col Obeidi said a compound that houses the families of security personnel and local officials was now under attack. He pleaded for help from the government and the international community. The fighting and poor communications in the area make it difficult to confirm such reports. Earlier this month, IS published a video showing militants burning alive a Jordanian air force pilot, whose plane crashed in Syria in December.
Al-Baghdadi had been besieged for months by Islamic State fighters before its fall on Thursday. It had been one of the few towns to still be controlled by the Iraqi government in Anbar province, where IS and allied Arab tribesmen launched an offensive in January 2014.
Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm John Kirby told reporters on Friday that al-Baghdadi’s capture needed to be put in perspective. He said it was the first time in the last couple of months that the militant group had taken new ground. However, Ain al-Asad air base, where about 320 US Marines are training members of the Iraqi army’s 7th Division, is only 8km (5 miles) away.

Judging by the historical letters, if there would have been an internet in 1775 it would have been the same thing...

I wish we could have a functioning government and military where everyone agrees on everything. That is not the case nor has it ever been the case. Pretty sure the first cave men here argued over arrows or spears, farming versus hunting, caves versus huts, pterodactyl (chicken) versus mammoth (beef) meat.

I will say this. As I get older and understand more my cynicism gets worse. Now I am at the point of just now understanding what I do not know. I thank everyone here for their service. No matter what you have to go through remember the important things: God, family, friends. That is why we fight and why we still exist as a nation. As f'd up as we are we are still the best nation on earth.

Op-Ed President Obama: Our fight against violent extremism

So in other related news ....

Just days after requesting authorization to use military force in a new war against ISIS spanning multiple countries, President Obama has published an Op-Ed in the LA Times.

President Obama: Our fight against violent extremism - LA Times

A small piece of what he says is this .....

Groups like al Qaeda and ISIL promote a twisted interpretation of religion that is rejected by the overwhelming majority of the world's Muslims. The world must continue to lift up the voices of Muslim clerics and scholars who teach the true peaceful nature of Islam. We can echo the testimonies of former extremists who know how terrorists betray Islam. We can help Muslim entrepreneurs and youths work with the private sector to develop social media tools to counter extremist narratives on the Internet.

We know from experience that the best way to protect people, especially young people, from falling into the grip of violent extremists is the support of their family, friends, teachers and faith leaders

Egyptian President Calls For International Coalition (read US Marines) to Attack Libya

You might have read that ISIS is now operating in Libya and they recently killed 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians via brutal beheading.

Remember that guy Gaddafi that France, Britain and the US removed from power via NATO and the US military? (It was US cruise missiles that hit targets in Libya)

Anyways here the link where the President of Egypt is calling for US forces to invade Libya and take out ISIS. Egypt just started bombing Libya a few days ago but they aren't invading.

Last time I checked Egypt has millions of people, why should US marines have to go fight (and possibly die) when these countries who are unwilling to fight their own battles?

---> Egypt President Calls for U.N.-Backed International Coalition to Intervene in Libya - WSJ

CAIRO—Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi called on Tuesday for a U.N. resolution endorsing an international military campaign against Islamic State in Libya, one day after he ordered cross-border airstrikes in retaliation for the mass execution of 21 Egyptian Christians by the extremist group.

Mr. Sisi said the international community had “no other choice” but to heed the wishes of Libyans and their Western-backed government, and to join in the fight against Islamic State in Libya.

NPR: How Orwell's 'Animal Farm' Led A Radical Muslim To Moderation

---> How Orwell's 'Animal Farm' Led A Radical Muslim To Moderation : NPR

The link above was worth a listen. I thought it was a pretty good interview with NPR. The guy interviewed was a Jihadist and says he realized he had been brainwashed by Jihad but woke-up after reading Animal Farm in an Egyptian prison.

He explains who it is false to think that only the poor and uneducated are attracted to Jihadist mentality, that in fact it has nothing to do with being Underprivileged or Aggrieved by some sort of wrongs.

:argue:

This was aired just a few days after the Paris attacks happened. Already I have seen articles where some on the left and center ask "what did the French do to aggrieve those people" or "how did the French alienate those people and drive them to extremism" basically blaming the West for the fact that extremists attacked the West.

removing Middle-East dictators like Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, Mubarak and Assad, is and always will be a bad idea. As bad as they may "seem" they keep things under control. The Arab spring and ISIS come to life in the vacuums when the dictators are removed.

The best political system for over there is a benevolent dictator who rules with an iron fist.

But maybe if we send them aid and give them jobs we'll all get along.
