I make custom parts for my Mazda RX-7 forum and i figured i would ask you guys if you want to see a special part you cant buy.

If there is anything you guys are really wanting but no one makes it let me know so i can fab up a prototype.

I will need a couple testers for it.

actually, now that i read more carefull and see the rx7 part, i would imagine roof racks arent really the kind of thing your talking about.
 
i can make all kinds of stuff do you have any pictures of what you have in mind it will give me a better idea of cost and if i can build it

Please feel free to post pics of the stuff and ill get an idea if its in the realm of possible.

Rear bumper please......or what about just fabbing up the mounts for the frame?

ok with plastic out of the equation makes things easy.
1. I could make a aluminum diamond plate center counsel, any one like me and like to rest your arm on the center counsel? the ammo can idea is cool but not practical. being a army guy i had one for the 50 cal and it wont fit right.
2. the roof rack is no biggy let me get some aluminum together.
3. ill work on some mounts but i think a bumper would be best im currently making one for my runner so i will have a look at engineering a usable bolt on kit for fabrication of a rear bumper.


I wish you guys would have said metal for the center counsel i had bent up a bunch of abs for the tub of the counsel.
 
1st Gen center console:
1) armrest;
2) cupholder;
3) takes existing switches;
4) lockable.

An unfinished lid would be fine with me, as I have some old leather laying around and could make up a nice pad.

Also, I believe I could live with it taking up a bit more space than the existing unit.

First post newbie here.

I'm picking up my 92 4runner today. She's in decent shape, but I've had my eye and brain on modding today.

Like Bad Vision, I can make most of my own stuff, BUT I work in the plastics industry. Specifically, I do vacuum forming, resin casting, mold building, etc... Unlike him, I don't do metal work.


I've noticed prices on kick panel speaker enclosures are outrageous. I can fab up a mold and vac form stuff in bulk for the cost of one.

This is my first runner after only noticing them the past few days. Looking forward to being part of the community.

Check with 4xInnonvations. I know they make a rear bumper for the 84-95 4Runners and I know that they sell the frame mounts for the 3rs Gens separately. So maybe they would be willing to do the same for the 1st gen.
 
dont get me wrong Iroke i have little intrest in the money i would rather people make there own stuff but some people just dont have the means to make stuff and they dont want to pay the rediculous 800$ for 100$ worth of metal.

ARB wants your left nut for there stuff and i dont think a company like that should have anyones money.

Cup holders and a center counsel that has stock switch set up CHECK!

i have 3 switches in my center counsel (rear wiper, window lock, and rear window up/down) just want to check and make sure that is all the options that the 4runner came with?
