Masson74 - My Rig

Dude, I am super new to this forum as I haven't even bought my T4R yet, but I just read through your thread and it was the coolest, most heart-warming autoforum thread I've ever gone through. Glad you're having fun with the kids and the rig.

I bought a VIAIR on board heavy duty air kit today. Hoping to get it in sometime this week. Oh yeah and an AIR HORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a pic of the Onboard air install

I had the front windows and visor tinted today. Why did I wait ten years to have this done???????? I love it.

Had a crazy shimmy in my steering wheel the last month or so but today on the way home it got a bit scary. Went over to my buddys ,Roy Lewis from Savage OffRoad, so he could look at it. We both thought it would be the U joint but that was rock solid. We discovered the power steering bushings were completely shot but only after him crawling under it while I moved the steering wheel back and forth. Fortunately I had ordered some a month ago because I thought this was what was going on based on what I had been reading on the forums. Two hours later working together he and I got them on. It was alot more work then either of us thought it would be. Smooth as silk now!

Went wheeling Saturday with a group of friends from church. 8 Jeeps and 2 4runners. We explored some old mines out in 29 Palms mining district. Good times.

Good stuff Masson.

This is the first I have seen of your build. Really liking what you have done so far. Wish I was closer to trails up here. about 2.5-3 hours away is the closest. Don't get out as much as I would like to.

How are you liking the VIAIR setup? im looking into a rear mounted setup like yours in the future.

Keep up the good work and enjoy it.

RE: VIAIR setup

It has been great. So much faster to airup and I must say I love having the added benefit of the air horn when it comes to SoCal crazy drivers.

A few pics from King of the Hammers. It was super dusty, cold and windy but we had an awesome time. I headed out there with Roy Lewis and his wife from Savage Off-Road and with a buddy of mine Corey Carlson from Spitshine Mobile Detail in Yucaipa. He had worked on detailing all of the Poison Spider rigs before they headed out to KOH. We had a blast in spite of the crazy weather. I met a few T4R members out there which was cool too.

Got some Weathertech digital floor mats ordered today.

Super nice truck you have! Your gunna love the floor mats. I just got a set in January and honestly don't know how I have lived this long without them. I really like the "auto-drain" feature when your parked slightly off camber and the water just runs out the door...

Cool OBA setup too. I need to do this.

Mason your rig is looking great. As a fellow desert dune/millenium silver limited owner I've kept an eye on your mods and have completed similar mods on mine to match.

I went with the ODL front bumper and painted it silver to match the flares (not exact color match, but close enough). I also recently added the Viair contstant duty system OBA system as well.

It's really cool to see you getting your kids out there and showing them the fun of off roading, camping and seeing the great outdoors. I have a 2 year old who will be growing up in a 3rd gen 4Runner.

BTW... looking for trail recommendations near Big Bear for this weekend (Feb 24). I know it is snowing hard tonight, so maybe something at lower elevation for a rig similarly equipped to yours.

Went to Pismo on Sunday and Monday with the family and had a great time. It was the kids spring break. It was my first time out there and boy was it a blast. We stayed at the motel 6 in town. The kids and us really enjoyed sliding down on the dunes as well as the wheeling.
