Went wheelin' and fishing again. Good times wheelin' but the fishing could have been better. I got skunked and my buddy Dan only caught one. It was fun to cool off in the redneck swimming pool we created by damming up the stream.

Here is a nice shot of my buddy Dan in his stock Runner bombing the stream. The glare from the sun shining through the water spray made for a fun shot. His 6 year old sun was cracking up and kept begging to do it again daddy. Good times.

I see you found the local fishing hole. . I have been going back there for the past year or so. Cant beat it (except the sun in the afternoon). The fishing can be excellent. The water was too high a month or so ago, and I have been waiting for it to go down some. THere are some beautiful Browns and 'Bows in there. Took me 5-6 trips to finally figure out what worked.

just FYI I Talked to a Game Warden down there and he said its all good but don't drive through the creek at the end. I always like to park out on the point, but apparently that guy doenst appreciate it. He said he tickets people who drive in the creek to get to the point.



Sometime we should go down there and do some fishing!

Thanks for the heads up Jmoney. The guy that showed it to me has been going down two times a week for the past year and has never had an issue. We just fished for rainbows with powerbait in the bigger section of the lake by the dam. Were you catching the browns up above in the shallower stuff of did you hike up the creek?

I caught browns in the deep (south west) side. I caught more in the upper pond. Im not sure if there the upper lake still exists since the winter flooding, but i assume it is. There were a couple weeks last year that were awesome. Me and a buddy caught about 30 or so in 2 hours or less. One day I saw a dude fly fishing with a float tube and I swear he caught over 40 trout in 1 hour.

So I was washing my truck yesterday and.......discovered my passengers side rear axle seal went cablamoooo. I have been wanting to get her re geared for some time now. Now I have an excuse to give the wife. So Wednesday she is going in for surgery to Redlands Motorsports. Putting in 4.88's and new seals and bearings. The only downside is the $2,100 price tag. Oh well, I guess you have to pay to play. I will be excited to get all of my power back. It has been a pig for quite some time now.

141,829 miles...Out with the old and in with the new... 4.88 G2 performance gears and rear axle seals and bearings. I have my power back :zoom:

A huge difference with the 4.88's. Previously I had to run my ECT button all of the time or else it was a complete dog. Now with the ECT button off it flies much faster than before. Still breaking her in softly.

Today I added an extended rear diff breather to the rig.

Finally got my new steering rack installed today (142,653 miles). Roy Lewis from SAVAGE OFFROAD gave me a hand on some of it since I was learning. I got the new rack from Safari LTd. We will see how she does. I need to get it aligned tomorrow and then hopefully its smooth sailing again. Its been sitting in my garage WAAAAAAAY too long.

Naw just up into the frame to gain about 18inches. I don't do any deep water here in SoCal.

Picked her up from the alignment shop. Straight as an arrow and smooth as silk again on the freeway Glad to have my rig back finally.

Wonderful build and thread. Wheeling with the family will always make some of the best memories.. I still remember my dad taking me out in his wrangler years and years ago.

Your 4runner is fantastic and has given me some ideas for my own to-do list.

Some pics from King of the Hammers. The new steering rack made a world of difference. At this years Hammers we timed everything perfect. First we watched everyone line up and met some of the drivers. Then we watched jumps at the start. Then headed to Back Door for 4 hours. We saw 6 rollovers!!!!!! Then headed out to the high speed section. It was fun to run into Adrian from ICON out there. He is the guy that installed my suspension. Also out in the high speed section my buddy Glen who was the co-pilot in the heli filming the hammers did a flyby for us. Then we headed over to Chocolate Thunder to see the leaders come through. This was my ten year old boys first time to the Hammers. It was EPIC.

Got her detailed yesterday. Looks shiny and new with just a few off-road pin stripes!!

Cleaned out the MAF sensor today after doing a trail run yesterday and throwing a code. I have done it so many times now I am a pro. The whole process in less than 20 minutes.

Did a trail run from Hemet up to Idylwild with the SoCal group yesterday. Good times.
