Matrixman955 (Jenny) Build Thread

Awesome build! How much trimming did you have to do to fit the 285s?

Thanks! Not much, after removing the front mudflaps and trimming the rears down, just had to push the front fender liners forward and secure with zip ties. Notched the underside of the front fender just a bit too, very minimal trimming.

Looks great with the changes you’ve added! How’s the difference in ride from the Moog Fj to the OME springs in the front?

Thanks, I've fallen back in love with her with these new mods! The ride difference is incredible, the OME springs+5100s (0 setting) rides so much more comfortable compared to the Moogs+5100s (1.75 setting) which was actually pretty stiff in hindsight. Best part of this new set up is it rides great unloaded or loaded up with people, gear and the roof top tent, not to mention I love sitting even taller than before.

Thanks for info! You got any pics of from trimming so I can go off yours.

Since I ride YZ's with my dad, picked up an aluminum double dirt bike carrier off Craigslist for a swinging deal. Just plugs right into the stock hitch which supports the tongue weight since the bikes don't weigh much. Had a blast riding and actually rode pretty well. You can definitely tell she's riding low in the back on the stock suspension.

Besides riding a bit low, how does it handle the bikes on the back? Does the front end up feeling light, or is it still just fine?

So in that picture I had the stock suspension and it rode level, maybe a tad nose high. With the new OME/Toytec/5100 setup it rides great, totally planted and is not floaty at all. Trying to upload a pic with the bike on the new setup but for some reason its failing - will try again and update this post.
