Found a slow leak in my front passenger tire. Turns out it was my valve stem. Taking it tomorrow to get pulled, new valve stem, and re-balanced. Tomorrow should be nice so hopefully I can finish up painting my skid plates.

They're actually powder coated using the stuff below.

No huge updates yet. On Monday I took the 4Runner to Firestone to get a new valve stem on one of my tires since I noticed a small leak. I also had to get that tire re-balanced.
They also stripped three of the studs on my wheel spacers and said they re studded it. When I got home, I pulled the tire off, new lugs and new studs, I was very pleased. I've heard some horror stories of Firestone throughout but this one seems really good and trustworthy. Definitely will be using them more often.
Ever since I got my tires balanced last, I've heard a screeching/rubbing metal sound coming from my driver side front and was able to locate that. I had taken it to a used tire shop since they were the only ones who would do it on the spot and I got this. I figured it was something as simple as this so it's good to know that it's nothing serious. Will try and get them re-balanced as soon as possible.

I also finished painting my skids and hope to get them installed tomorrow. I know I need to drill the frame so that's the only thing keeping me back from getting it done tomorrow.
I'm also heading up to Longwood University tomorrow for the weekend and hoping I can find some cool places to explore. I'd really like to get the skids on for that as well.

Oh yes, weights stuck to more weights. Surprisingly enough, they feel balanced.
I need to take all my wheels to get balanced through Firestone, they did a good job on the one they did. Can't believe I'm comparing places to get my tires balanced this much haha.

haha Nice! Yeah, that cant be healthy though to have all those weights situated that way. hah
I take my 4Runner to Firestone for alignment and balancing. I'm still all stock though, so I have no insight on how well they do with modified suspension and larger tires.. but regardless; my opinion of them is positive and I would recommend it if you are still debating. :yo:

I posted a picture of the wheel weights over on TW and it definitely got an interesting response. I'm really happy with the new weights though, I still need to go by there and get my remaining 3 balanced.

Pretty shltty looking haha. I have not tried and sort of balancing beads yet. I've considered it but haven't taken action. I've also heard of people using sand.

I've also installed two of my three skid plates to my new full set. I haven't gotten to the third because drilling is required so I'd like to have an extra set of hands. I got the front two on by myself and it wasn't too bad. I sort of had to use myself as a jack and roll sideways with the skids on my hip to boost it up. They're on, nonetheless. Pictures will come soon when the third is on.
I haven't been able to get my PIAAs on and wired but that'll come soon. Summer's a few weeks away so I'm not too worried about getting it done before then. There's also an AllPro GB on UCAs in which I might be getting in on so it may be time to start collecting more front suspension parts (break lines, LCAs, weld on spindle gussets, ect) to get everything done at once.

Finally got a picture of my skid plates. Here's the front two, still waiting on the install of the third as I haven't had time with finals and what not. I finish up school next Wednesday so I'll be free and have time to put the third on. I'll also get around to installing those PIAA 510s I have. I also ordered AllPro UCAs with the group buy that was going on. A picture of the skids...

Played around today with the pup. Took her down to Seashore which is a local state park. Had to get a little creative with the parking too since it was very crowded. That's what you get for the first 85* and sunny day.

Yep, that's me! I actually work there so you'll be seeing it a lot there this summer if you're on Laskin a lot. I'm constantly looking out the windows there to see if I spot anyone haha.

I like pier fishing, I've fished off a few in the outer banks. They're nice because you don't need a state issued fishing license to fish off the pier and they allow you to drop your line a good distance away from the coast (where lots of the nice fish are) without going out on a boat.

If you happen to head to the outer banks, go to the fishing pier in Avon. Or get a beach pass and fish off the world famous Hatteras point.

I fished off the Hatteras point last week with my buddy. Didn't catch much but it was better than being at work! :fishing:

I haven't done much fishing down south, most of it being local here in the Chesapeake Bay and Lynnhaven River. Of what fishing I've done down south has been in the inlet between Wrightsville Beach and Masonboro looking for flounder but with no luck.

Hey nothing beats not being at work! I wanted to try and make it out there this spring, but it didn't work out. Maybe this fall I will get a chance. I'm thinking about going down to charleston this weekend and doing a little fishing off the pier.

I went deep sea fishing this weekend in Panama City Beach and remembered how much I like fishing out in the ocean versus rivers. Caught a couple nice sized fish, wish I would have caught the Tuna, Shark, or King Mackeral that a couple other people had though. The triggerfish was delicious!

I've only caught a handful of sharks, none being too big. When I surf fish here, we catch mostly skate which are hook-swallowers so it get's a little repetitive/annoying.

My best friends family did just buy a double-hull fishing boat so hoping we get some luck this summer on it. Here's the average size of one of the sharks we catch while surf fishing two summers ago.

Nice, the shark they had was probably a little bigger, but not much. Other people's boats are the best. You get to use them and they get to keep up with them!

We must of caught 6 or 7 that night. One being probably 2 inches longer and the rest being smaller, as small as 14" or so. This was caught and released probably 2 weeks after we caught ours. That thing's a monster, I don't know what'd I'd do if we caught something that big. I'd like to think I'd release it but damn, that's a scary thought to have swimming under you.

We rented a house in Avon for a week, it was really nice. We caught a skate and a sea trout. Other's were catching a lot of Whiting on the sound side of the point. The tackle shops boasted Red Drum being caught, but we didn't see any reeled in!
