I wish I had a lift or knew somewhere local that had a lift where I could power wash my undercarriage. Maybe a big rig wash place?

I want to say that the place by me that I usually go to has an angled nozel. If I didn't have the snorkel I'd go through the car wash down on the corner that does an undercarriage blast, but the last thing I need is one of those spinning things tearing the snorkel off. Another thing you can do is get one of those spinning sprinkler attachments and put it under the rig on full blast, but I don't particularly want mud all over the drive way.

I just got an angled pressure washer attachment and a gallon of degreaser off amazon, should be here by Friday so I can give my baby a deep clean over the weekend haha!

But clean the battery connections and the starter connections (hot wire, ground wire, and push in clip). I just fixed this yesterday :thumb: and ohhh man there's so much dried mud on my undercarriage, I guess I need to invest in a angled power washer tip. I spent like 2 hours pressure washing as much as I could reach Sunday morning.

I pressure washed mine down soon as I got home just for this reason ..then washed and bathed her the next day. Swap out my air filter and Not a sound not a issue running perfect. I run a k&n filter when I go wheelin and just clean it out each time before I go with just a light spray of oil once I get home yank that nasty thing out and reinstall my oem filter. Cheaper in the long run to not have to buy filter each time. Just muck up the cleanable / reusable k&n each time.
Just remember the next day everything is still fresh but then after a couple days on a hot engine everything runs down and mucks up to settle in the unders of everything and nooks a crannies making it harder to to clean and blast free, giving you the later aftermath problems as such.

Sorry to hear about your winch issue. I definitely owe you a BIG THANKS! I greatly appreciate getting pulled off that rock. Also thanks to those who jumped on the truck to keep it from rolling. My favorite pic is of [MENTION=60694]TheSentinel[/MENTION] sitting on the wheel. This was an awesome run big thanks to [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] for putting this together. Unfortunately for me it was my last one for a while as I will be picking up a new batch of recruits mid June. Once that happens my life stops for a solid three months.

It doesn't sound like the winch itself is bad. It sounds like either the remote, or the solonoid assembly (where the remote plugs into) is bad. I'm leaning more towards the remote, and they are pretty cheap to replace, so I would start there. I had a conversation with Brian Swearingen "woody" from original trail teams a while back, and he swore by the harbor freight 12k winch.

You are correct about the ham. Absolute best form of communication on the trail. Get a couple good onboard radios in the group, and you can be 50miles apart and still find each other without even touching a repeater.

Well, you play and you pay I suppose right? Cleaned all my terminals, still got a click/delay/start and while I was checking connections I found out my driver side CV is now leaking gear oil. I'm assuming that's either a seal or a bearing.

Going to try swapping batteries from the Tacoma to the 4runner tomorrow night and make sure it's not a battery issue, might even try swapping starters before I buy a new one. I have no idea the history on this battery, but I've read it could be a bad battery issue.

Sounds like dirt got into the starter itself, or the solenoid attached to it. You can take out the battery and starter, and I believe autozone will test them for free.

Bummer about you diff leak. The cv is only held in by the pressure of being sandwiched between the spindle and the differential. I would guess that it is possible for the cv to become loose against the seal with modified suspension during times of full down travel. It might of let some mud get into the seal causing it to leak. Either way I would pull the cv, replace the seal, and change the diff fluid since if oil got out, that means mud and water got in.

Dang that sucks! Well if it does turn out to be the starter try getting that plunger/ contact kit I linked previously. It's only $14 and it can potentially save you from buying a new starter. What I'm thinking is that water may have gotten inside the starter and fouled out the contacts making a bad connection.

I'm probably just going to replace the starter today while I have the axle out for the seals and the knuckle is pushed out of the way. There's not a whole lot of room in there and I might as well just put a brand new one in for peace of mind. At least I should be good for another 100k miles on the starter and I'm staying away from deep water for awhile, haha.
 
fckit all. Alternator isn't charging today, pretty sure it was 2 days ago. Anyone wanna buy a slightly used lifted 4runner? Never been off roaded? hahaha. Got my tire replaced for 30 bucks at least.

I know what you mean [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION]. I thought broken fan blade was it then come to find out I'm leaking coolant at the seam of the radiator. Currently waiting on a new radiator so I can install it next week. This is getting expensive!
 
Any thoughts? I started a thread but it's quiet around T4R. I swapped alternators, still not charging. Seems to charge when there's a load (2-3k rpm) but at idle battery just drains while running.
