Well it's been foreverrrr since I've updated this thread and my recent purchase has inspired me to do so. Quick backstory over the last two years or so. The second 4runner we purchased ran great for a while but the engine ended up blowing after about a year, which was partly my fault. The second runner wasn't quite as nice as I first thought. It had definitely been driven hard and put up wet(which I should have expected). The carpet had some sort of mold growing in it from being driven through water and it had overtaken most of the wiring and plugs underneath the carpet, and all of it needed to be replaced. I was actually surprised to see that the PO had actually put the snorkel to use lol.
Anyway, long story short, the second 4runner has just been chilling in our driveway while I've been swapping all the parts over to my original 4runner. The charger, winch, CBI rear bumper, and optima have all been swapped. I really just use it as a part truck.
Also, a few months ago I purchased and installed the D2S 4.0 kit. It is a pleasant upgrade over my previous kit. The high beams are unreal!
My most recent purchase is something I've wanted for quite a long time. I finally picked up a 4.10 elocked third off of craigslist. I've bench tested it, and it operates very nicely. I also counted 41 teeth on the ring gear to confirm that it is indeed a 4.10. Apparently it came from an '04 Tacoma, but has the square style plug common to our 4runners and not the round that I thought came on the Tacomas. Now I'm just debating on whether or not to wait patiently and try to find a elocker axle on craigslist or to attempt to modify my own. The elocker axles seem hard to come by though.
