Metal Tech Sliders

MT Sliders SR5

I originally posted these pics on a different thread, but thought it might actually be best to post here. Ordered and had them install a set of their sliders on my SR5. I had them add full tread plate instead of just the partial tread they offer. Haven't done any real testing other than laughing at people pulling up alongside of me and staring at the side of the rig trying to figure out what those things are.

Do those work well for steps? Do they stick out far enough to stop the door of a careless person from denting yours?
 
don't stick out far enough for my size 12 feet for a step in the front unless I step up sideways. Works real well then, but with just the toe of my foot, not so pretty good. The back is plenty big enough. The sliders do provide good protection for the doors.

Good to hear. I have size 13 feet but was more concerned about how useful the rear bump out was for a step so I can reach my roof basket, bike rack, what have you. The front, I'm only worried about the lady being able to get in and out as well as guests (all of whom have smaller feet than I do and are shorter) especially once I lift it (only prob a 2" lift though).

I installed my Metal Tech sliders a few weeks ago. Very nice quality and they make a decent step.

Metal Tech sliders saved my doors.

During a trip on Rug Rd. in Mammoth AZ I slipped off a rock and landed hard on another. The impact caused a dent on the tubing and pushed the whole slider up and backwards to the point I can't open my doors on that side. I will be contacting Metal Tech to see if they offer some sort of warranty or a way to fix them.

I did call Metal Tech they advised me to loosen the bolts and see if it would drop in to place. I did this it helped a bit but because of them being bent I still couldn't open my rear door. So I placed a few washers on the upper bolts between the sliders and the frame on the rear and middle leg. Doing this pushed the rear down enough to open the door. Metal Tech did also offer to sell me one side but I think I will save up for some Bud Built beefy sliders that come with the warranty on bending.
 
I did the same thing with my tacoma sliders few years back. I inserted the I-beam of my Hi-lift (over the outer bar, under the inner bar) and was able to pry (cranking like crazy) it down enough to open the door. I have since continued to bash on the sliders with no ill effects. And a perfect excuse for a 1" body lift! :biggrin1:
 
New to the forum, anyone have or know of a discount code for metal tech sliders beside the "t4runner"?

I am also looking for an install vid as it seems unclear if the SR5 slider requires a rocker revision or drilling.

Appreciate the help and sorry if this is redundant.
 
I am leaning towards the MetalTech Sliders for my 2017 Limited. I was torn between them and Shrockwroks. After emailing back and forth with both companys I did not get the warm and fuzzy from Shrockworks and their compatibility with the XREAS system. I am never going to be slamming this thing in to rocks so I think the Metaltech will do just fine. And I don't need to swap out the rockers.

make sure your order the right one...

theres the OPOR and the Metal Tech ones... And then they break down to trim levels ...

I have the Metal Tech Stage 2 sliders and are really nice ... But I add skater tape on them; as to not slip off them when its raining or when theyre wet...

I am emailing with them and have a quote right now for the (Metaltech4x4 2010+ 4Runner Limited Edition Sliders) I believe the come power coated with the dimple plate step.

So I guess they’re not DOM. Can you jack the truck up on the sliders too?
