Figured I would start one of these. Most people probably have seen my photos but I feel left out by not organizing them into a build thread.

The day she came home

Second Mod. She needed a lift and tires.

Then I replaced the crappy tweeters with kappas, sorry no pics.

Then of course she needed the plastidip treatment.

Played around with a little plastic wrap for temp protection

Next up was a CB install. I went with the Cobra 75WSXT/4' firestick Firefly/Comet RS 720 and I used stainless steel screws for the cable clamps.

New toy arrived today, now I just need to find a place to fill it. Got a killer deal from Amazon. $350 for a scratch and dent one with all the accessories in the picture. It looks brand new to me not a scratch on it and the tank initial insp was stamped 02/12

I also have a VIAIR 300P as a backup, you can see it behind the powertank.

It does get dirty once in awhile also.

Hope to add sliders next but since I am moving soon I am going to hold off for a few months. Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions this site has made all this possible. Well the site and my money.

Powertank Mount Bracket

Couldn't see spending over $100 on the Powertank brand angled mount so I decided to make my own.
Only $30 in material at Lowes. I think it turned out ok, I need to still do some finish work on it to make it look finished but overall I am happy with it. Just need to figure out where I want to mount it.
It is extremely stable, was going to add supports from leg to leg but I don't think I need them.

Where did you buy your CB antenna bracket from? and about how long of a cable did you use?

I used an 18ft cable and I bought the Comet RS720 mount from somewhere online. I looked through all my info and I can't find or remember what online store I bought it from. I just did a google search for it and picked the one that looked like the best deal and a good company.

If you look through some of my pics you can see where I have it mounted under the armrest. Since I used the cobra 75 all the settings are in the handset so that allowed me to hide the main box. I tapped into the left main fuse box and just used an unused fuse spot that had constent power, that way I can use my cb when the truck is off. I just need to remember to shut off the cb when I am not using it at the end of a trip. I usually just unplug the handset and hide it in the glovebox out of the way.

Picked up some sliders RockyRoad Supersliders from Reklov today, they went up very easy even by myself.

Sliders look good man! And what length CB cable did you use? I have an 18ft run under the steering column and down the kick plates to the back but it just isn't long enough. Especially since I'm thinking about getting one of the CB mounts.

Also, how did you run it through that wiring housing that leads into the top side of the headboard to get the cable to the exterior of the 4runner?

I used an 18ft cable also. I put my CB in the arm rest so I didn't have as far to run it. I just went from the center arm rest under the carpet then up the back left pillar. As for how I ran it through the wireloom I just split it open and then resealed it with black F4 tape(self-sealing aircraft tape, F4 Tape - Self-Fusing Silicone Tape - Home)
Good luck, the mount and antenna work fantastic for me and I get great reception/transmission quality. Just make sure you get a SWR meter(about $10-$15) to tune it properly.
I did have to remove the hardware on the mount and loctite the screws since they kept coming loose on the trail and the antenna would tilt all over. Once I loctited and cranked them down tight it never happened again.
