They are stronger and can take a bigger hit before bending. The provide better articulation. Plus the lower links being offset act almost as a skid allowing a smooth surface down to the axle.

Now I just need to get my sway bar endlinks to give a bit more room for droop.

Ok small little package came today from some local guys.

All the lighting switches ready to go. And I know it's a Jeep, but it is only a switch. Going to go right infront of the shifter just like a couple of other people have done.

I am going to place an order for similar switches this week. Gobi should be shipped next week or the week after and my LED light bars for front rack, lower grill and rear rack should be delivered in March. I will also be adding rock lights. I have some fun wiring to do, but I will have a very cool mall crawler when I am done.

FYI a friend sent me a youtube link of your truck in snow drifting in a parking lot thinking it was mine. Granted there is no mistaking our vehicles anymore but in that video they were very similar.

A couple of pics I took while Mikey was wrenching on the upper links (I did the easy ones ).

One-off custom labels.

On a different note. The 4x4 Labs rear bumper on Mikey's truck is a work of art. I've seen it before but never closely inspected it until it was sitting in my garage. Not only is it built like a brick sh!thouse but the craftsmanship is unbelievable. It's basically a metal sculpture made to look like a bumper. Luke out did himself. I can see why it took 3 months to build.

And now the next step. Got the alignment done, and the Duratracs and XD wheels put on. Super Happy with the outcome. Now just need to get some sliders, and bumpers once someone finishes them.

Had to do a little trimming but no biggie. Tires sit just a touch out side of the fenders, but the tread is flush. Tires are quite on road, can't wait to get it off road.

Lift is the Overland Warehouse/Radflo 2.5 kit all around. Running 285/70x17 on 17x9 XD Hoss Rims with negative offset (4.53 inches of backspacing if I remember correctly).

Decided I would try my hand at wiring up the switches....

hopefully I did everything correctly and they work. Should be installing the pod tomorrow.

Yellow - to be spliced into a light switch activated source
Red - 12V from the battery
Black - 2 separate grounds, one for the yellow and one for the bottom LED (directions said I could jump them but decided to keep them separate.
Blue - to relays controlling the 1. Rigid Industries SR20 2. Wurton 40" LED roof bar and 3. Rigid Industries SR6 for the rear lights.

Going to butcher the Rigid harness tomorrow too to get the light actually hooked up. Then I will wait and get a aux fuse box and a relay bank to clean everything up.

If anyone sees something wrong let me know. Thanks.

Ummm looks good to me???? I have this planned for today after lots coffee... Have to see if the spot I have planned will fit 6 switches... But I am having alittle remorse going with 6 might be over kill...(too many cool zombie ones to pick from)... So not sure if that wire technique is called daisy chain... But did you use one solid wire bend it and strip it and shove it in the blade connector and heat shrink it? Seems like a smart way to not to use a bunch of vampire connectors and solder... I know nothing of wiring and soldering the connections, on the kappa dash speakers to solder it took hours.

I cut and soldered. I know nothing about wiring but thought it was time to try. Used a members photo as a guide then drew up a diagram with the switches and went to work.

Ok got the switches mounted up. Not much of a how to on this so I winged it.

The black piece first comes off as a small piece. So took that off and made a hole for the bank. Lots of shaving small bits here and there to make it fit but it is in.

Then put that black piece back on the tunnel cover (silver piece) and had to cut a hole in that too.

Put the switch holder in and again shaved small bits all over to get it to fit but it is in.

And put the switches in and now its time to go and at least get the switch lights working.

It definitely is not perfect but it looks good and I did it myself so I feel good about it.

Well I kept going on Metal Tech's website and looking at their rear links. And well we can say I ordered them because I was bored.

Crazy how I get my pile of parts to install down to nothing just to order more.

Rack and links on order and skids could possibly be soon.

Dude shingles sucks balls..I had it too and the pain is on a whole new level.

While installing the PRND cover does get in the way and does need to be trimmed. It comes off easy with 4 clips on each corner to make trimming easier.

And I was going to tap into the LED that lights up the shifter lights but which one is positive?

Or is there a better spot to tap into for a light switch activated source?

Get yourself a volt tester pen. I dont think theyre too expensive. Turn on the over to the acc to get the lights on and then stick the pen into the housing of the wire until it lights up. If it lights up green I think its positive. Just read the instructions on its box.

With a little help from [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] got the switches at least wired up to the light switch so they come on when I turn the lights on.

And yes they do respond to the dimmer switch adjustments.

Also had some extra touch up paint from the iQ and am sick of waiting for the red emblem I ordered over a year ago...

So the switches are almost completely wired up. The only part I need to do is run two leads to two relays controlling two lights that I don't yet have. I must say the more I do wiring the more I enjoy it. Now I am not good at it but it is kind of calming.

I did end up cutting the Rigid Industries wiring harness up to make my job easier. Blue is the lead to the relay and the red and black are well we all know what those are. The red and black I just connected to the daisy chained wires I had made the other day.

And holy smokes, IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!!!

All switches off and no lights on.

All switches on, lights off.

All switches on, lights on.

All switches off, lights on.

And Front bumper light on, lights off.

And proof I somewhat know what I am doing...
