Mikey's Build Thread...

Well finally bit the bullet and got my first Baja Design light system.

Squadron Pros in amber with a driving pattern.

They came nicely shipped.

Boy they are bright. Compared to my HID headlights.

And of course a new sticker for the sticker bombed drawers.

More Baja Designs stuff to follow. Now does some one want to link me to Antman fog light mod to turn them on without the headlights?

Nice I love my BD squadrons in Amber wide cornering! I have the Sport and they’re plenty bright. The Pro is almost two times! I bet they’re seriously bright.

Sorry can’t help with the fog light mod on the 5th gen but have to say it is one of my favorite mods I did early on with the build and you’ll love it!

Lookin damn good!

Hey Mikey, what did you do as far as mounting those squadrons in the shrock bumper? I haven't bought mine yet, been waiting for someone with the bumper to explain what they did lol.

I actually only have two screws holding them on. They are the outer two. The brackets that are supplied with the Baja Designs didn't line up to well for me so some finagling had to be done. Still debating how to get a couple of the inner screws to work but the brackets dont look close to lining up. One day I will take the bumper off to really give it a go.

Ok so today (and yesterday) was fender trimming day. Since it sounds like fenders with a flare and rise are still a no go I decided to take my rubbing in my own hands.

The reason. Plastic trim popped off.

Top of the wheel well. Not much rub but enough for me to trim.

Rough idea where to cut.

Took about an inch off.

Put the trim back on and took a little off that too.

I am very happy with the outcome. Now to see if I still rub. The passenger side will get done when I order the snorkel, need to be able to line it up.

So thinking about doing this and going to 315's. My caster is maxed out with a touch to much camber and still bite the back bottom of the fenders. How did you pop off the flares?

They had already pretty much popped off from bottoming out. But I just made sure all the screws were out and then pulled hard. I did have to replace some of the clips though.

Already have all of the orange and blue replacement clips in the tool box. Plus, just ordered a set of 315's.

Mikey, learning the LT way, just about popped a fender off too so i'm going to be trimming mine up! Good timing on your post for me at least, lol. I ordered Toyota blue/orange clips from Conicelli Toyota. $1 each blue, and $3 each for orange!

Builds looking good, continue to rock on!

Thanks Bobby.

Think you paid less then I did for the clips but still expensive for what they are, in my opinion.

Really need to get my gears done.

My very first Antman mod, at least I think so.

Fog lights on when ever I please!

And for inquiring minds I used 18 gauge wire and followed the directions. Well I didn’t unplug the hard plug. I just cut the wires and went from there.

Well the next mod has been ordered. I have been on the fence about the ARB snorkel for some time now. It is just so BIG and I couldn't get over it. Yes I know there is a reason for the size but man.

Then the TJM snorkel thread popped up.

And then CaTunedOffRoad posted up with a great introductory deal (plus they are somewhat close to me), so I could not pass it up.

I like the looks of the TJM way better then the ARB and I am sure it has been proven in Australia as well.

Can't wait!

Another check of the list. Got the TJM snorkel install by CaTunedOffRoad Big thanks again!!!!

The fit is good. Don’t think it is an adapted model. It does follow the lines very well. Now I just need to go test it.

The spots on the A pillar did not fit with it, so off they will come. They will be replaced by @bajadesigns S2 lights, which hopefully will fit when the hood is open. Otherwise I will figure something out.

Does this mean you're going to get out and wheel soon? The old man having fun is ready to go.

Awesome, hows the visibility? Any noise on the freeway? Definitely like the lower profile of this over the Safari product, looks good!

Barely can see it from the driver’s seat. Passenger won’t see it at all. Didn’t hear any new noise. But considering the RTT, rack, and awning are up there, I couldn’t actually be honest one way or another.

The low profile is what sold me.

Hopefully. House remodel is taking A LOT of my time.
