Per tank of gas im getting 225 and i all stock. Havent done the math yet for mpg but i would think i should be a lil higher than that. Im v8 awd as well. Any thoughts of why.
320ish until light comes on using 93 octane. Wouldn't change a thing.
Pointless putting 93 octane in the v8, it isn't tuned for it.

Owner's manual states Premium is the "Preferred" fuel grade for the vehicle. That statement means the ECM is tuned to work best on Premium fuel, but will dial back it's setting to work with lower grades without serious engine issues. If the vehicle was not tuned to handle that fuel they would not bother recommending it as a "Preferred Fuel".
Also how many of you are correcting for your non-stock tire sizes when calculating MPGs?

Every car says it prefers premium fuel, it is the manufacturers way of covering their ass if you have fuel pump or injector issues.

Yeaaa, that ant right:suspicious:. How fast do you drive? what is the service history of your engine? It's hard to say what it might be, could be many things. could be stuck brake calipers too...
Others have already mentioned certain cars. My wife had a Volkswagen passout... i mean Passat.
It did not prefer....It HAD to have 93 and said it on the gas cap. The compression in the engine HAD to have it. When we lived in Arizona they only had 91 and it damaged the engine. The engine would even sputter. My Neighbor had an M3 BMW and he experienced the same thing.
I had to spend over 1k a year later having the engine fixed. I remember being madder than 10 Sons of Biches at the dealership when paying that bill. The mechanic actually asked me if we were running the recommended octane. I got rid of that POS soon after that.
If i could find it, I would run the 104 octane.
