I tried to search for the answer but I could not find it.
Is there a minimum speed at which the VSC will engage?
I ask that because this morning we got tons of snow in central Iowa. Roads were very slippery.
I took the 4R 4wd to go to work and just around the block I stopped completely and the pushed the gas as I would have if the road was dry. The car went sideways. More than 90 degrees of the intended angle. No alarm or light came on and there was no cut off of gas either. I made the wheels spin no doubt. How could I do that? (I was in 4hi)
Later about 1 mile away I turned around another corner but this time about 10-15 mph and the whole thing came on, lights, sound and the familiar pulsing of brakes.
Now, if there is a minimum speed you need to travel to receive feedback from the VSC I can understand why the car did that. Otherwise I am clueless. Is it possible that all wheels rotated at the same speed then fooling the computer? Should I thank the dunflops for the semidonut? Is there an inertia sensor in the car or is just a rotational difference and steering angle what the computer use for brake corrections?
Has somebody experienced the same?
Other reasons that I am not aware?
