Minute Mod - Key Reminder Disable

Hey guys, have been busy lately and havent been around much. But I was working on the rig today and did a real quick mod that I have wanted to do for a while now and thought I'd post it up.

That Key in ignition door chime gets real annoying at times and was begging to be disabled.

It really is a minute mod and took much longer to write-up then to do the mod. You just need to cut one wire.

How do you figure all this stuff out ?? Kudos to you , your much smarter than I am.

Does this mean it shuts it off all the time ??

You just have to have a strong desire to fix an issue and then study the FSM's to see if it is possible.

Yes, it disables the key in ignition / door chime always. You could splice in a switch where the cut was made and mount it somewhere accessable if you only want to disable it when working on the rig or listening to the stereo or such. I did not want that functionality so I didnt do it.

Does this mod disable the seat belt warning chime as well?

Not sure on my truck, the seat belt chime was disabled from the factory. But now I can leave the keys in the ignition with the truck off and it doesn't chime!

anyone know if this will work for a 3rd Generation (2000)? or how to disable it if this mod doesn't do it?
