Mislabeled or faulty lift coils? *Saga*

Found an OEM strut washer lying around soooo... ripped the drivers side apart again. Put the dobisons washer I had on top down on the bottom and put the oem washer up top. Problem solved.

Everything is back together. Amazing how fast you get when you do it a bizzilion times.

Just need to tq everything down drivers side and find an alignment shop.

For anyone with kdss. Unbolt the sway bar bracket (2 bolts) for the side you are currently working on with both sides in the air. When you finish with one side wrestle that bracket back on with ratchet straps and large cable ties BEFORE you start the other side. Wasted the rest of my day fighting myself.

Anyways. I’ll get back to it in the morning. Need to tend to my body for now.

Using a bottle jack under the KDSS piston much easier than the ratchet straps, for the next time of course. Glad you got it figured out!

Glad you got it all back together. Last time I did mine I read somewhere that putting it in 4L disables the kdss and makes it a lot easier to handle. I dunno if it actually worked or not but it sure as hell seemed like it was a lot easier to manhandle back into place than the first two times I tore it apart. I hope you dont have to do it again but just a heads up!

I kept it captive with the strap and was able to adjust the height with ease. The other pulled it to the lca. It was way easier then the bottle jack which I find always gets knocked over under the piston because of the front to back movement.

On the passenger side I used the floor jack to compress the piston. But honesty next time I’ll prob use that strap method again.

I have heard that. That two strap method really work well tho. Minimal effort and lots of control.

Alignment at firestone later this afternoon.

Took it around the block a bit to help things settle and check for weird noises. Made sure to hit a lot of speed bumps and drainage whooptiedoos. Initial impressions is that these springs feel much more progressive then the ones I took off. The front was a smidge harsh before but only really highlighted by the change.

Checked everything with a level. I have a smidge of rake at the frame which I think is good enough to say I’ll just leave the swapped rear coils in. Truck sits really nicely now.

Lean is noticeable but maybe it will settle down over time. At this point I really don’t see myself wasting more time trying to correct it.

Firestone lifetime alignment ftw. No more wasting money.

They did a good job. Tracks much better now.

Imma call this one good. I’m looong overdue for some camping.

Thank you to everyone that helped me think through this.

rig looks good man. My Bilstein 6112/5160 & T13 setup is lower than that.

Thanks dude. She breaking peoples necks all day. Alert the authorities.

Btw my rear springs I’m going to sell are 1.25” stock weight with 3rd row or 1.5-1.75” without and offset for kdss.

This may not be over. Took some measurements last night because it looked lower. I was really not happy with the number I got. Looking like they are sagging just like the last ones. I will have to confirm after work.

I have no words to express my frustration and dred of doing this all again for a 4th time. It won't be dobinsons products going back in if I can help it.

Got on my back and really made sure my eyeball level was on point.

21.25 passenger maybe a little less

21.75 drivers maybe a little more

So, tbh they MAY have settled ever so slightly but I think I was being hyperbolic last night/this morning. In my defense I think you all could understand my frustrations and skepticism.

I’m still pretty skeptical that these are going to hold lift over time. I’ll keep throwing up measurements as the months tick by.
