Dealer tells me my Skid Plate is missing after a oil change.
Any help where can I find a deal on a OEM one?

Someone stole it?

Was it the front one?

There are about 5 or six "screws" holding it up.

Can't imagine the noise if it just "blew off"!

Go find the previous owner. He took the skid plates off. OEM is the way to go. I can do an oil change with mine without taking them off.

OEM skid plates will have that important "lip" that holds them in place with no rattle.

OP... Someone took your skid plates off to work on vehicle. I'd try and find out who.

I have 2005 SR5 150,000 miles. I've taken front skid plate off once. I'd get the dealer to explain what happened to your skid plates. They may have forgotten to put them back when they did the oil and tranny checks.

Yes, if you’re going to buy new skids, don’t buy the stock ones again. Get something aftermarket, won’t be a huge difference in price and the aftermarket option will be more stout and provide more coverage.

A lot of options out there, a lot of tax time sales too. I like my RCI skids and they have a 15% off sale right now.

sounds like the dealer misplaced it after the oil change. if so, i would be making the dealership buy a new one.

there are 4 bolts for the front skid on a 4th gen. that link is for a 5th gen skid... this is the 4th gen section & the OP has a 4th gen 4runner..

Appreciate your input... looks like RCI about the same price and shape. Plus these guys are local in San Diego..so no shipping. I can also get the gun metal gray which would go good with my shadow mica paint in think.

Appreciate your input.... I can I prove? Dont know if I ever had one. Bought it in Texas with 60K on it and drove it back to San Diego.
