Mistaken's 4Runner build & pic thread

Been working on my other project a little this week.

It's a 76 for f250. My grandfather bought it brand new off the lot in California. My dad took his driving test in it and him,my grandfather and I went on numerous fishing trips over the years with it. He passed away at the age of 93 and passed it on to me.

I've been polishing the factory wheel hubcaps and they are looking sweet. Some elbow grease and about 90 min each and they shine again. :)

Not finished with them but they look good for round 1.

Looks great as is. Maybe 5100 shocks/struts with front at 0.85 or 1.75. That's all I wanted and I'm happy with it.

Thanks! I really like the stance of it now too. Yeah the 5100's at a low setting is sorta the plan if I do change up the suspension.

Baja or Gobi rack? Drawers and Frig? Exhaust?…

Owning my 4runner has become a money pit :p

Ha! I hear you.

I do want a Gobi rack and ladder setup but that'll be awhile. No drawers or fridge for me. My wife and I have a little one on the way and also want to buy a house early next year so trying not to spend too much on the 4Runner right now. Although, this forum doesn't help much with that. Lol

Man you're telling me. If you look at my first couple posts I said i would not be putting lift or anything. Couple weeks later and now i've got 6112/5160 ordered and deciding on wheels/tires.

Im in the same boat, I'm looking to purchase a house next year as well.

Im undecided on that at the moment. I'm looking into doing a 2014/2015 Limited front end swap, but thats up in the air. If I do that then I probably will black out the chrome with plasti-dip. Otherwise, I think it works for now.

No, they are the stick on type. Thanks! I dig em too.

What part number are vent visors?

How do those sliders work as running boards? How much foot space do you lose in comparison to the stock limited running boards?

They look like they are angled up in the pic...or do they sit parallel with the ground?

Sorry, I didnt see your post.

I never had the stock Limited running boards so I can't compare them but there isnt a whole lot of foot space on the OPOR's. Where the bump out is, there is more room and more than enough to stand but the rest of the slider doesnt leave much room. You can use it to step in but its not overly convenient. The do sit pretty level with the ground.

Sweet dude! I learned how to drive in a '76 f150 Ranger super cab longbox camper special with a big ugly moldy fiberglass canopy. My old man gave it away several years ago, and I still berate him occasionally. It was in awful shape, but would've been a nice patina'd beater to roll around in if a guy put a couple grand into it. You going to do a build on this truck in any of the F-series forums?
