Hey Dudes,

[MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I threw a little party at my place and invited folks from here, Tacoma World and the 3rd Gen Mafia Facebook page. We had a decent turnout. Good food, good beers, talking trucks and turning some wrenches. It doesn't get much better.

The green runner with the Gobi ladder - what bumper is that with the tire/jerry can carrier?
 
So who did the 2UZ swap? That should be the next video. Looks like all had a good time.

Someone needs to at least do the deckplate mod to Tim's 4runner. Maybe shock/spring replacement?

99-00 SR5 is the best rig to have...Modified or not. Of course I'm a little biased.

That was our friend Mikey [MENTION=152326]mikentosh[/MENTION] with the 2UZ swap. Sean met Mikey at a local Pick N Pull. Mikey wanted to borrow my special rear axle tool but I actually turned him down because I've had bad experiences lending things out so it's usually my policy to not do it. However, I started talking with Mikey because I heard he was doing a V8 swap and I asked if we could film it. Luckily Mikey was cool with it and his friend Wes who owns the hotrod shop the work was performed at was cool with it too. I'm glad we met Mikey because he's a really cool dude. He sold me his 1 year old Apple laptop for a swinging deal because he was planning on buying a new one. My old laptop wasn't cutting it for video editing anymore when we upgraded to using a GoPro Hero 5 camera.

So, this is going to be our next video. But, this is not going to be our typical step by step repair or mod video. We're going to bill it as more for entertainment rather than an instructional video. It would take a 2 hour video alone just for Mikey to thoroughly explain how he did the wiring harness. However, people will learn a lot from watching it and get a good idea what a V8 swap entails.

I've done a few mods with my rig. I did the extended diff breather, I put 99 springs in the rear, and i've added a dash cam. I've mostly just performed preventative maintenance to my rig. I'll probably do a suspension lift one day. The problem is I'd probably want to go big and put some King shocks on there and we all know what those run. What I really want to do is get another rig that I can modify and do more aggressive off-roading and have my current rig as more of a daily driver and rig I take trips with. I off-road with my current rig but it's usually pretty tame fire roads accessing areas to camp, hike and mountain bike.

Seems like you all had fun! Tim, you need at least something on the 4R other than what came with your truck

Great vid of you guys representing the T4R community! Thanks for all your helpful vids. It's my go-to video "cliff's notes", while I've done the work to my recently acquired '99 Limited.
