Modest AT tire on a Modest budget

I'm running cooper at3 on my jeep zj . I put about 500 miles a week in upper nh weather. I'mwicked happy with them after tgis recent noreaster. Very quiet awesometraction and good price. They're made in USA too

My 4runner might get a set now im that pleased.

If I wasn't such a planner and analyzer, I would have pulled the trigger by now...

If you happen to prefer info with a little more signal and a little less noise, Kuhmo Road Venture AT KL-78 tested out as perhaps the best bang for the buck in Consumer Reports AT tire tests. High on the performance scale, low on the price scale.

Ill stand by these tires they are $171 each do great on the snow and last about 80k miles.
If you have lots of rain avoid the nittos and bfg, they load with water and hydroplane a lot!!! You will want something that has tread to evacuate the water. Michelin and yokohama in my experiences do best with this.

I had a set of nitto terra grapplers on my wires xterra and it was the worst tire I've ever ridden on, loud especially on concrete highways a little quieter on asphalt. You will not want to drive in the rain on the highway with these tires. I shortly put on a set of ltx ms2 tires as i don't compromise on that kind of stuff.

These are the best tires ive ever ridden on michelin ltx ms2. Not an AT tire but they are awesome off road surprisingly. And they surpass any tire on the snow and rain.*They are a little pricy though, i found this set used with 15k on them. They will last about 80k
My brother spent over $1000 on his bfg ko tires and they lasted 38k, he is now looking while i am still on my michelins with lots of tread left.
Tires are pretty important so don't compromise for a cheap set just to save a few bucks save up for the safest tire. I wouldn't put my family on a cheap tire would you???
