Modifying rear SR5 mudflaps

I searched and couldn't find anything on this.

On my new '99 SR5, the running boards and mudflaps have been removed. The fronts cannot go back on, because I have Rocky Road supersliders. I'm ok with that.

I want to put the rear flaps back on though...but I hate how long and obnoxious they are. I also hate the way the rear bumper looks with no flare/mudflap trim on it. It want to use the stock trim/flaps, but I want the flaps to be shorter. Is the only way to do this to modify the ones I have somehow? Or are there shorter ones out there somewhere I could buy?

Whatcha doin with the old fronts? And yes you can but i dont know how good it will look.

Gonna hang on to them, in case I get rid of the sliders ever.

I guess I'm going to the drawing board to modify these suckers. If I do it, it'll look good. If I can't make it look good, I won't do it.

O, i read that wrong, i thought you wanted to mod your rears to fit the front.

That's a bad link, but it got me searching over there at least. From what I gather, you just cut the darn things with a razor. Probably helps if they're warm. But I think people are refering to a different style mud flap when they're talking about doing this. Or are they really referring to cutting the big one-piece SR5 Highlander style flaps?
