molle seat covers from a J**p?

so im wanting to put seat covers on my seats, not that i really need them, but the fact that they are molle and i can attach so many other things on them is just BA, plus with me being in the military, i already have a ton of molle rigs, and attachments that i could use, and it would be nice to have all my crap in my truck organized and clean. my question is, will the seat covers from a j**p wrangler work on the Runner. bellow is the links to the ones i am thinking of. do any of you know anything about them? have you ever used them or have you seen them before, i would think sense they arent a form fitting cover that they would be fairly universal, even though smittybilt says they are for the heep. and what color should i get? the tan of black? im thinking black, just cause it would go with my Runner better but i have a ton of desert tan(coyote) molle gear already so im on the fence right now. if the front seats work im thinking ill get the one for the rear seat and see if i can modify that to fit the Runner as well, i know the rear wrangler seat is a lot narrower than the Runners and that the runners fold down individually but i say its worth a try... what do you all think!?

sweet i just looked at his and thats exactly what im looking for at and needed to see; how they fit and all... i guess ill be buying a set next paycheck and getting them, im gonna go with black, cause of the interior in my runner is the gray and black and i think the tan will look funny.

yes i live in in the "couve" (hate that term) i honestly think it should just stay vancouver, or if they switch it call it fort vancouver but yeah i doubt it will ever happen. but i work for Rasmussen BMW in portland so im stuck with the income tax(gay), if i can find a good job this side of the river ill take it, know of any!? lol

i gots the "ok" from the wife to get them, just have to wait till payday and then ill get them, ill probably just go down to 4wheelparts on 82 in ptown and oreder them, ill get 15% off for military that way...

hey ill take washington and "the couve" over "Ptown" any day. just to get away from all the liberal yuppies and BS that goes on in Ptown. Vancouver is so much more laid back it feels like a small town -but i do still have my Oregon ID so i dont have to pay sales tax. lol

now why would i tell you that...? :lol::gun6: i keep it on me most of the time... well the bags get different stuff in them depending on what im doing, like if im out doing SAR then they are gonna have a lot of medical and first aid stuff, and stuff for an LZ but if im just doing a road trip or driving around town it will have stuff for the kids, like snacks, diapers, ect ect. one of the bags are trash bags, and so yeah i like it cause it varies and all my military gear is compatible with it too being molle and all
 
Save your money

Reviving this thread in case anyone is thinking of buying these. They look really cool and hold lots of stuff. But . . .

I bought some back in the Spring. I've put about 1000 miles on my 4Runner since putting them on. They have torn at the lower back attachment points on the front cover, the nylon is shredding at contact points on the lower and back seat edges, and the tan seat covers have discolored (turning green) due to sweat and sunlight. Very poor quality product. Cheap vinyl backing with low-quality nylon on the front. Definitely not military-type quality materials.

When I bought these (the tan ones) there were no negative reviews on Amazon so I thought, Great! Now there are several negative reviews for all the colors. Everybody has the same complaint - tearing, nylon shredding, discoloration. Nice and cool looking. Just don't sit on them (or let your 4Runner sit in the sun).
 
They do look good, but are designed for the Jeep seats I believe? I thought they were a bit expensive so I didn't get them. I wish someone else made these type of covers.
 
those covers look pretty awesome. they probably require some custom sewing or attachments to pull them tight, I noticed they have a lot of slack on 4Runners.

the downside of keeping the moly loaded with gear is someone will probably break in a take the first night they get a chance.
 
They do look cool and the attachments are handy (and probably look good to thieves too). The problem is the materials are cheap and they don't last. If they were made from 1050D nylon like 511 Tactical gear they would be great. But they're made from cheap Chinese nylon with a piece of vinyl on the back. The seams pull apart and the threads on the nylon come unraveled. They are beginning to look like a shag rug! (for those of you old enough to know, or young enough to still remember;):, what that looks like)
 
yeah so i am having the same issue now, the front of the covers(the part that my back is against on the seat) is now all toren out on the drivers side and freyed, im gonna try and take them back to 4WP and see if i can get a new set, then probably try and sell them. its nice to have all the gear on the seat and easily accessible but yeah not very happy with the quality. i agree, dont spend you time and money on them. am i upset that i wasted my money, no, but i also wouldnt buy another set again. i got some use outta them, and would have always wondered how "cool" they would have been, so now i know, yes they look cool, but no they are not worth it, if they sold for like say $30 maybe, but even then id expect them to last more than 4months.
 
Update: Left a 'contact us' message on Smittybuilt's website and they contacted me. Had me email the invoice and pics of the cover and they're sending me a new one. I'll hold onto it until this one completely falls apart then put it on. At least they replaced it free. Maybe they'll upgrade the materials in the future.
