Are you doing the inner and outer tie rods just for peace of mind or were they worn?

Sorry to thread jack but LBJ and both inner and outer tie rods are on my list... Just wondering at what point I should change the tie rods (how do you assess the wear?)

ShouldBe- Just doing them for the peace of mine. Giving the runner the love so it will take care of the wife and kid.

I've got an extra steering rack... I wonder if it would be easier to swap the whole thing (and add outer tie rods) as opposed to servicing the current rack...

I was looking at the NW train bumpers last night. if you end up getting one let me know. i am on the fence of getting one b4 the end of the year with my welding job right not. it would be easy for me to build.

hey sittinpritti or others,

when you guys buy new rims/wheels but not new tires, do you remove the old wheel/rim and replace with new yourselves or with a shop?

Rear shock removal is PITA x2!!!! Had to cut the right one off.

Lift all done, 5 hrs later, not too bad. Also got the Curt roof rack installed today. Not my first choice for a rack but it was in the budget.

And yes, rear shocks are a PITA - this is a well known fact.

Sawzall is the only rear shock removal method I even bother trying

Just some fair warning I installed some moog lower ball joints on my father in laws Tacoma and within a year the rubber was already failing. Pretty bad quality if you ask me. Maybe look into Toyota ball joints or Napa which people have had good luck with. Your truck looks great I've always loved that color.

For LBJ's I always recommend OEM - I will probably end up going OEM steering components too. For me, it's one of those things I don't really want to risk to component failure.
