Regarding the ARB vs Shockworks, I would check out this tread.

Turns into a bit of a flame war as you go on, but at the beginning there is good information. BFAD made the point that ARB actually paid to crash test ther bumper. Would you rather have a better looking bumper (no doubt) or a bumper that has been tested to deploy airbags and save your family or yourself (I am selfish and ride solo a lot).

From there is was an easy answer for me. Plus the ARB is considerably cheaper.

Will be checking in to see how te build goes. Good luck!

Totally agree with this... and I've read so many threads on it, but just been on the fence about it over the looks. Then this morning I saw what Blcktpgsr did with his ARB and I think the debate is now over.
 
Very nice rig! It reminds me of my old 99 4r. Dang all of these 5 spd 4runners are popping up like crazy. I couldn't find one for the life of me when I was looking to buy

He also came up with an adapter for the Motive power bleeder for one-manned bleeding:

I don't have a Motive power bleeder, but I do have an air compressor, so I adapted this with a ball valve and quick disconnect. (pic soon) This worked amazing and I was able to completely flush the brake system with DOT4 by myself. BigFish, I can't thank you enough for the information in your threads... I haven't really tackled anything like this before, and it was really easy thanks to you.

Very Nice man! I wish I would have done this years ago, when I bought brand new calipers, disks and pads for mine! Instead, I just replaced with stock replacement stuff... :(

Thanks for the shout out man! I'm glad I could help you out with your 'Runner. I'm interested to see pictures of how you made the brake bleeding setup work with an air compressor, so please post some pics of that.

Also, I'm digging the plans for your truck. I'll be watching the thread & looking forward to seeing all those parts installed.
 
NICE! Just like the 8069's but flat black. I have a feeling these will be a popular wheel now that hte 8069 is discontinued.

I'm enjoying seeing you build up this truck. It's like watching what my '97 could have been if I hadn't put so many miles on it.

BTW, you said pics tomorrow (that was yesterday).

I've been really really bad about logging in and updating this summer, but about 3 weeks ago I met up with Rockdawg and he helped me get the lift and the control arms on. Thank you SO much Sam!

I really love the Icon coilovers and control arms, there is definitely a huge difference in how this thing handles. I've got some front end squeaks, rattles and clunks that i need to look at, and my CV's are leaking after the lift, so next up is most likely some NAPA axles with the neoprene boots.

Now for some pics! (I will work on getting some daylight shots so you can actually see the DuraTracs and the 7069's as well)
