Well, I agree with the overall conclusion that Moog is crap, and that looks like too much resistance, but the fundamental problem I think is the material. I think you have demonstrated poor tolerancing as well, which will definitely exacerbate the wear on those parts. Maybe it is a combination of material and tolerancing. I don't think that the fit should be very loose though. You want a bit of resistance because that means it's a tight tolerance fit with thick grease in there.

Nice demonstration though. If you still have it, tear the boot off and clean the grease off and show us what the surface of the ball looks like. I bet there are wear marks and scratches.

I run the 555 on my DD 99 Limited. So far no issue at all. They made the alignment easy and quick. Now the camber bolts were another story.
