This was a big reason that I went for an SR5 Premium and not an Offroad Premium or a TRD Pro, I really wanted a sunroof and only select models had them

Exactly this. Sunroof was one of my top 3 requirements in looking at the new 4runners. 4x4, sunroof, 3rd row. Ive always had them in vehicles. There's nothing like the warm sunshine, cool breeze, music blaring, feeling of freedom when cruising down a mountain road with the roof open. :hippie:

Exactly, just about every vehicle I've owned has had one, I would miss it too much to not have one. I just love opening it in the summer/fall and getting the fresh air and breeze.

Didn't want the third row since I don't have kids, but I got forced to take it since I wanted the specific color and the only one I could find had the third row....

I spent most of my adult life wondering what having a sun/moon roof was like. Whenever I tested a car with one my head would hit the top. When I had the chance to buy this 4Runner with a moonroof and my head didn't hit, I jumped on it! Living in West Michigan, I don't get to open it often but, when the weather is right, the moonroof is open! Note avatar!

When I bought a 4x4 I added performance with the understanding that there are more moving parts than a 2wd. I own 4x4 because I want to own it and will fix it if it breaks same for the damn sun roof. I want it so I bought it if it fails I'll fix it. I like the sun roof I rarely rarely use it but I'm thankful it's there just like my 4x4.

I dont often open the moonroof but I really enjoy the airy feel it brings into the cabin with just a bit more glass/light coming into the area. If you're the type of person who always keeps their moonroof cover closed, then Id opt to not get one.

I am like this too. Rarely open mine in my '06 Sport but enjoy the extra daylight. I am getting an '18 TRDPro trim which doesn't even offer it in US (although they do in Canada for some arbitrary reason but to no avail the Canadian models are too difficult to find and costly to buy new with import tariffs etc). Nonetheless, I have decided to live without it because every other part of the rig is exactly what I want. I also looked into aftermarket which you may be comfortable with but for me too risky to trust a shop to hatchet your roof on your new rig and create a potential for leak as well as replace the rigid headliner with free floating material and decrease headroom. For these reasons, I personally would get it OEM or forget about it.

I enjoyed the sunroof/moonroof in my 2014 limited for the first 12 months and 1 week after I purchased the car (CPO with a 12 month warranty). Then it started working intermittently, and then not at all. Dealer says it needs a new motor at almost $900. So like one of the other posters, mine is now, and will likely forever be a window that does not open.

I use mine almost daily. Sunroof open with rear glass down makes for a nice breeze. I'll do the same come summer. I only use the a/c when the wife is in the car.

Just bought my 2018 ORP and was really trying to find one without the moonroof (didn't want to pay $850 for it and wanted the extra inch of space). But....could only find a silver premium with a moonroof in the area (didn't want to wait), so I just used the moonroof as a negotiating tactic. (I DONT want this moonroof...lower the price or I'll have to leave).

Anyway...these past couple days...I have actually started to like it! I'm 5'10" so headroom wasn't necessarily the issue (just wanted a taller roof so the interior "feels" roomier...just like homes are getting taller and taller ceilings). Nice having the extra light and looking up at the sky.

Most of the year I leave the blind open just to get extra daylight/sunlight into the vehicle, it's a nice bonus when I can't or don't feel like opening the roof

No sunroof in mine

My 15 4Runner does not have a sunroof and I don't miss it. My 04 4Runner had one and my wife's 16 Rav4 has one. I found that I didn't use it much and when I did use it in either open or tilt position it I found it to have too much wind noise at highway speeds. We hardly ever use the one on the Rav in the tilt position because it has a very annoying whistle sound when driving.

I have a 2017 TRD ORP with a moonroof and I use is almost daily. For me, the moonroof was a “must have”. I love rolling down all the windows and opening the moonroof. It has a very open feel.

I personally wouldn’t want one without it...but I live in Texas where I can use the moonroof year round if I really wanted to.

Moonroof was a must for me. Had one in my 1987 4-Runner (the removable one), and didn't have one in my 1999 Tacoma. Missed it all that time, and I was going to get the 5th-gen convenience package regardless Even waited 2 months for my 5th gen to arrive from Japan "just as I spec'd it". It's so much nicer than the removable style...

Rear window barely open and moonroof tilted open. Nice ventilation. Moonroof wide open is a good time as well Even just letting daylight in with roof closed is awesome. Ahhh yes....
